Stayed 4 nights with my husband in May '09, using the hotel as a launching pad to visit surrounding parts of Provence. Reviews were accurate, and the website photos are too.
Our ground floor garden/pool facing room was slightly tight but beautifully appointed, as was...More
We booked La Bastide based on what we read on the positive reviews on this site, and were not disappointed. The Hotel is beautiful and meticulously maintained. We had a lovely large room on the main floor with french windows to the garden, which gave...More
We found this on Alastair Sawday's website, and stayed for 2 nights in June. It is a really extraordinary find - exquisitely decorated in an austere and simple, almost Shaker, style. The bed was large and very comfortable, and our bathroom, although small, was just...More
I cannot express strongly enough how charming this hotel is. We found this hotel by chance on the internet and stayed 3 nights. The hosts, the food, the ambience, the setting and the attention to detail meant our stay there was the highlight of our...More
The Boulbon is a perfect hybrid of traditional and modern Provence. From the moment we arrived in the village we were struck by how picturesque it all was, from the church to the castle to the windmills. Also it has all you require in terms...More

Yes there are shower heads but they are low about waist high. As far as the differences in the rooms I can only comment on second and third floor and we stayed in rooms facing the garden. The only difference was the size of the windows. But I'm sure if you are not facing the garden the rooms would be much warmer as we had a great breeze at night. There is air conditioning and it works very well.
