Yes, the rooms are not bad and have some newer furniture. The staff were nice. But the bathroom, while clean, was not in very good repair. The wall was stained above the heater, the edge of the bathroom sink had peeled off and the bathroom was so tight I hit my shoulder painfully on its edge. More importantly, I did not feel safe in the room because the door did not close properly, you could see into the hall from inside the room. Also, the only lock on the door was the lock on the door knob and a chain. This is not a secure door. Also, there were huge gaps around the air conditioner. Also, the carpet in this hotel is dirty and worn, making it feel unlikely that the room is clean though it certainly appeared clean.

Ah, the Pelley Inn. Myself and a friend stayed here while travelling, and it was like we were in a really bad porn movie. I've stayed in my share of cheap hotels and motels, and I'm not one to complain. It was just hilariously terrible, to the point where I'd almost go back just for the fun of it. We were late showing up so we got put in the basement, not too big of a deal. The first thing you notice is Orange EVERYTHING. All the furniture is straight from the sixties, and our bathroom had not wallpaper or even drywall, but cinder block walls painted - you guessed it - bright sienna orange. There was an extremely loud party going on upstairs until well past 3am, which I understand can't be avoided sometimes, it is a hotel. Only issue was that we were stuck in the basement right below the dance floor - which meant lots of stomping, screaming, and overall loudness (and at 6am when the party fully ended, trashed party-goers running around half-naked outside our window. Pleasant surprise to wake up to).

OH. The funniest thing was that we walked out the bedroom door and saw that the room next to us wasn't actually a room, but an oh-so-elegant tattoo parlor! We roared laughing. Such a random thing but I wouldn't expect anything else in this kind of place. We made sure to take tourist-y photos in front of the tattoo parlor, but I can't find them at the moment. Definitely a must see in the town of Springdale.

The staff was fairly friendly, which was nice given that they were up until 3 keeping the crowd under control, and for what it's worth the place wasn't too dirty - just seemed gross since all the furniture and bedding hasn't been replaced in 40 years.
Overall was a fun little experience.

Old room, old furniture. A little noisy because by the road and the windows were not closing well because of the AC. The reception is on the second floor and the rooms on the 3rd, with high flights of stairs. Not convenient at all with the luggage!
There's not more around to have a nice diner. And the town is a little seedy.
It looked like some old poor people were leaving in this hotel. Plus there are some gambling machines at the bar. weird.

Well besides being extremely dated the place smelled terrible..... Stale cigarette smoke is very appealing.... Not! It's a good thing that the government has passed no smoking laws in all public buildings .... I guess they don't have to be enforced in small town newfoundland.

Our basement room sported cinder block walls, 60's wall board in the bathroom, hand crafted vanity like you would see in an old hunting cabin, epoxy paint with blue decorative flecks on the bathroom floor, no standard bible, no telephone directory or area information, no iron or hairdryer, and no hot water if you showered after 10 or any time throughout the day, and of course, water stained t-bar ceiling tiles with the t-bars themselves rusty.

Location was convenient for our purposes, the all NL hockey tournament, Tim's is next door and the arena is directly across the street.

As for cleanliness.... It's questionable. I looked under my sons bed for his missing sock and found an earing from a previous guest! Gross!!! Carpet is disgusting

We booked Pelleys Inn for our sons hockey provincials. After reading all the poor reviews I have to say we were terrified in what we would have to face upon arrival.
Thankfully it was nothing like the previous reviews. The staff were fabulous and the rooms were very nice and clean. It turned out to be one of the best tournaments and stay that we have been on!!! The arena was across the road and Tims next door!!
We will most definitely book again if in that area!!

I will never stay at this place again . Two nights listening to drunken people under my window . The music from the bar blasting starting at midnight and going for hours . Poor place to stay with family . Most hotel rooms contain a hair dryer. This one did not . Plug in's were scarce in the room and used mostly for the lamp tv etc . The bathroom plug in for razors was old and outdated . A very upsetting experience .

We had to travel to Springdale for a provincial hockey tournament. My son and I shared a room and on the first night of our two night stay, we were on the upper floor. The smell of cigarette smoke was at times overwhelming. Although the rooms are designated smoke free there was obviously smoking in the lounge or other area downstairs.

At just past 5am on the first morning we awoke to the sound of dripping water. There were two leaks in our room one in the corner by my bed and another at the foot of the bed. I went downstairs to the desk and there was no one there. I called the first number listed for after hours service but got a voice mailbox. I left a message and 20 minutes passed without a call back. I proceeded to call the second number and the lady who answer was very rude. She asked why I was calling this number even though it was listed at the front desk. She told me it was caused by condensation even though it was raining outside.

Eventually the owner came to the room and again said it was caused by condensation due to a metal roof. No issues the previous the previous afternoon although the temperature was above freezing. Whatever the reason I insisted we could not stay in a room that was leaking.

We were offered a room in the bottom level and moved down there later in the morning. I never thought I'd miss the smell of cigarettes but when we entered the new room the stench was awful! It smelled like the worst basement smell I have ever encountered. I had a bottle of Febreeze for my sons hockey bag but instead used in the room to try and drown out the terrible odour. The smell of cigarettes returned later in the evening which covered the other odour so I guess that was a plus.

If Trip Advisor allowed for a lower rating than 1 out of 5 I would have chosen that instead.

Room was quiet, clean and affordable. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. It's convenient location is easy to get to, close to Timmies, parking right outside the door. We would stay here again. No coffee in the room but you don't have to go far to get one at Tims.
