Sixty - yes, 60(!) - of us gathered once again at Pine Vista for a great weekend. Scottish Country Dancers from all over Southern Ontario had three wonderful days at a clean, modern facility with all the amenities we needed. Attentive, sincere service made it even better. Thanks!!!

Our first visit to Pine Vista and everyone loved it ! The M.O. B. ( Matilda , Oliver & Beatrice) had so much fun participating in all the activities , the crafts, swimming in the lake & pool , canoeing, fishing , racing to the candy cart and most importantly, making new friends.
Recommended by friends Pine Vista was still an unknown to us so we didn’t really know what to expect. It exceeded our expectations! Such a beautiful location , well maintained, clean & above all friendly!
Needless to say we have re-booked for next year . Thank you everyone at Pine Vista for giving my family such a wonderful week! We can’t wait to return.

N.B. Having been notified well ahead of time we brought our own beach towels & were well aware that due to Covid the laundry facilities were closed. NO PROBLEM!

We just returned from our first time at Pine Vista and we had a fabulous time! 4 adults and 3 children ages 5, 8 and 8. There were lots of activities, swimming (pool and the lake), fishing, crafts, canoe trip, triva, tie dye, basketball, tennis, badminton and the list goes on. The kids camp was run by friendly, fun and energetic staff that offered some really wonderful creative crafts and activities for all ages.
There was an end of week celebration for the kids that included awards and personalized medallions.

The cabins were very clean and the perfect amount of space. The kitchen was very well equipped. If we needed any clean sheets or towels at any point in the week the staff promptly provided them. All staff were expectionally friendly, helpful and ensure guests enjoy their stay. The grounds are beautifully kept. We can't wait to return next summer, so many special memories! Our kids were all sad to leave after having so much fun and making some great new friends! Thank you to all the staff at Pine Vista for such a fantastic week!

I am extremely disappointed with this resort. We booked 2 cottages for our 2nd year in a row, and their deposit policy states that they take credit cards, cash and interac for payment.
This is not the case - In fact, they only accept Credit Card, unless you live driving distance away to come in person to hand cash or swipe a debit card. Despite offering to send an email transfer or mail in post dated cheques they simply refused all alternatives and cancelled the reservation instead. Clearly, they are doing very well for themselves if they can simply decline all payments other than credit cards. Wow!

Thank you for allowing us the chance to comment regarding our deposit policy. You are correct that we accept credit cards (VISA and Mastercard), cash and interact. We do not accept e-transfers as this is not a secure method of payment for our guests. As this was not an issue for you in 2023 during your first stay with us, we are surprised and sorry it has become an issue for you now and caused you to cancel your 2024 reservation. It is imperative to us to communicate all of our policies to our guests by posting them on our website, relaying in person or on the phone and by emailing them. We have been corresponding with you via email since last July and recently on the phone and did our absolute best to review our deposit policy and offer options for you to confirm your reservation. We are sorry that the options that we offered were not acceptable to you and that you cancelled your reservation. As a small family business, we pride ourselves on our guest relations and do our absolute best to develop policies that accommodate all. It is certainly not in our makeup to decline payments or to disappoint valued guests.

My husband and I went to Pine Vista for a Valentine's weekend away. We had a great time! There was snow, but the temperature was not too low making it ideal for outdoor activities. We went tobogganing (they provide toboggans for free) and snow shoeing ($5 to rent for an hour). The grounds were beautiful!

There is an indoor games room with pool, foosball, ping pong and air hockey. There are also free DVD rentals in the lobby and a DVD player in the room.

There was a wood fire in the room (wood provided). Also a barbecue outside on the deck, which we used to cook dinner. The room was warm, clean and comfortable.

The staff was friendly and was happy to help with any issues we had.

I had a great time and would recommend this place to couples looking for a romantic weekend!

We are 'long time' guests of this amazing resort (19 years & counting) & so we just knew that with Covid this year & all the restrictions that come with it, Pine Vista would still find a way to 'make it fun' for all & still keep everyone safe. Their new Candy Kart was a huge success with our Grandchildren this year & for Pine Vista to "jazz up one of their golf carts with a Caribbean theme...including a fake palm tree & music from Mowana" is just so them! Our entire family absolutely luv coming to this resort, as Pine Vista's friendly & caring attitude, along with their strong desire to ensure everyone has fun...we just know, we will always have a great time! Thank you Pine Vista & to all those that work there...for everything you do & for being the "best resort" ever! Our summers & now fall vacations, just wouldn't be the same without ya!

Our children had treated us for a weekend getaway in February 2020. We loved it so much and had mentioned that we would love to return with our grown children. Our children surprised us for a Christmas gift and came along for a weekend getaway this February. We had a wonderful time including our 3 year old granddaughter. We were able to skate, snowshoe, tobagon and cross country ski. We enjoyed having an outside firepit right at our cottage with endless supply of firewood. Fireplace inside was also very comfortable. Due to Covid we were not able to use the outdoor jacuzzi.

Resort was nice. But no laundry facilities onsite. That’s why rating it 1

For a weeklong trip it would have been convenient to have a coin Landry on-site

The swim wear and beach towels needed a wash by day 4 so had to drive 25 mins away to laundromat and wait for 3 hours till laundry got done.

We are sorry that you found it inconvenient that our laundry facility was closed during your stay. As part of our COVID-19 protocol we have all indoor spaces closed in order to keep guests and staff safe. In order to reduce the need for guests to do laundry, we provide beach towels, bath towels, linens and blankets. We would have been happy to lend beach towels to you during your stay. It is always our goal to keep guests informed so that they are well prepared for their stay and for this reason we send out pre-arrival emails to all guests with all of the information about our amenities, our facilities, our COVID protocol and our recreation offerings. We care very much about our guests and want everyone to know in advance what we offer and what they need to bring to enjoy their vacation with us. Our friendly staff are also available daily and are happy to help our guests with anything they need. Other than the laundry facility closure, we hope that you had a wonderful holiday and were able to enjoy all that Pine Vista has to offer.

I have stayed at several cottage resorts in Ontario, but this is the only one that I have revisited. We usually go at least once a year, off season, and for a weekend break.

I am not a fisherman, but the facilities provided are far superior to other resorts at comparable prices. Horror of horrors that the lake should contain algae during a southern Ontario summer!! The only way to cure this is by a massive infusion of chemicals and I'll take the algae any day! As to other comments about the responsiveness of the management and their arrogance, our experience has been the opposite. Not everything is perfect all the time(almost but not quite), but whenever we have brought up concerns(always minor, such as a non-functioning barbecue etc), they have been addressed immediately and with apologies and courtesy.

The staff are excellent, always with a smile of greeting. The resort is ideally located in a sheltered bay, and is kept scrupulously landscaped and clean. The owners, Bonnie and Vern Hamilton are frequently on site. Bonnie Hamilton is pleasant, polite but business like(I suspect she wrote the response to the single critical review), and she runs a 'tight ship', although the atmosphere in the resort is relaxed and cheerful. Vern Hamilton couldn't be more affable. 'Arrogant' is a grossly unfair description.

And no, I'm not related to or remotely acquainted with anyone who has anything to do with the resort!

Breakfast was not included in our reservation. We had a kitchen in our unit so made our own breakfast. Not sure what is the closest though there is a golf course about 1 mile away that has a restaurant.

It’s great there! Quiet. As long as you are comfortable with a boat you’ll be good. And not sure if you are traveling with kids or not, and what your exact dates are, but I believe there is no Kids Club after Labour Day. Anything specific, ask me, maybe I can be if more help!
