At Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, the consensus among guests is that the cost may outweigh the value, given the additional fees for what many consider basic offerings. While some rooms are praised for their comfort and views, others face criticism over maintenance and cleanliness. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff attentiveness tempered by reports of occasional disorganization. The resort's amenities and tranquil atmosphere are well-received, despite some overcrowded facilities and outdated elements. The location is favored for its scenic beachfront, despite its relative seclusion.

Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort in Chephan, Malaysia, approximately a half-minute drive from KL, a row of separate houses opened, and each individual roof extended is located in the middle of the sea, it feels a bit like the Maldives Resort, the attitude of the servants is very kind, when they arrived, people immediately relaxed, we rented a family villa style, a comfortable big bed, two single beds, two bathrooms, one of which has a bathroom, the environment is wide and wide, the children in the room are happy to run away, there are two balconies, looking out, and the environment is very comfortable.

The resort is fully equipped, there is no border pool, restaurant, children's club, spa, very sunny environment, children can go to the children's club to play inflatable beds, there are many activities, such as stone painting, although additional fees are required, but it is also cheap, there are several restaurants in the hotel, all of which can be eaten to the sea, we tried happy hour's Cocktail, pizza, gelato are very delicious, there are also some couples set a romantic table, candlestick dinner, is a good place to celebrate a special day. There is also a loft-like layout nearby that can be used to make cards.

Guests can also pay to play shooters, cross-country cars, etc. On weekends or holidays evenings there is a fire show, super amazing excitement to watch, be sure to watch!

The staff attitude of the service was very diligent and friendly, especially Rajan, who actively helped us, picked up us back to the lobby and the room, thank you!

On the next day, enjoy the spa service, in the 716 room, you can do facial or massage etc. service, try their Combo, i.e. 1 hour massage 1 hour facial, the massage teacher Fatima is very professional, the technique is perfectly skilled, even the head is also massaged, super comfortable, the whole body gets relaxed wonderful moments! The cosmetologist Azlin is also very professional and skilled in how to clean the face very clean, plus moisture, after completion, the whole person is fresh and worth a try!

Buffet breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant, food is rich, ready-made Indian roti, homemade bread is also delicious, and there are many types of juices, especially Mango lassi.

In the evening we also tried the restaurant buffet, because it is Christmas Eve, that night there are a lot of programs, there are live music shows, magic shows, lucky draw, the restaurant food is very rich and delicious, seafood and shrimp, adults have champagne, children have fruit juice, the favorite water buffet cheese and all desserts, can be eaten from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, noon at 12:00 there is also a special mind-designed reverse program, which gives you an unforgettable Eve night!

This hotel is amazing. We had a family holiday flying in from the UK and Australia - 'meeting in the middle'. Both adults and kids loved it! Service is outstanding. The team can't to enough to make sure you're happy. Grounds are lovely. Rooms and villas are large. Private balconies and beautiful views including sunsets. Spread over a large area, the walk from the end of a 'palm leaf' to lobby is around 600m and very pleasant. Buggies are super quick when you call one, and will even take you to the beach! The pool is much larger in real life that the promo pics make it look. It's super clean and the pool team make sure you have everything you need. One of the best infinity pools I've ever enjoyed. Lots of space with loungers and cabanas, even when the hotel is busy (which at times it was with large groups arriving). We ate in all the restaurants which were excellent. Breakfast is very good too, with a huge choice of Asian and Western choices. Self service, with plenty of service and food being cooked freshly as well. Lots of fruit too, all covered, and good coffee! The private beach is nice, with loungers and a beach shop including water activities to book. We had the beach to ourselves both times we went. The sea is warm, and fun. Cloudy as it's super shallow, but still fun. You can walk out as far as the end palm leaf and it's still only up to your knees when the tide is out (it goes out a long way). When the tide is in, it comes right up to the beach which is nice, so pick your time to go enjoy. Shout out to Leela who is the Leisure Ambassador and knows everything inside and outside the hotel. Super helpful and we enjoyed catching up with her each day too. We enjoyed the Mangrove tour too. Both she and The Captain were excellent. Also Saras who was always around at breakfast or in the Pantry and couldn't do enough to make sure we had what we needed. And the gentlemen in Sepoi Sepoi - great setting for a beachside restaurant and again, great service. TIPS. Enjoy the hotel and the service. Also head out of the hotel too. There are some great restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Also some small shops selling essentials. There is a shop in the hotel selling essentials and gifts too. The hotel will also organise transfers to and from KLIA and it's only around 50-60 mins transfer time. Super easy. Thanks to the Duty Manager who organised our early check in and late check out to tie in with our flights! In summary, thank you to everyone at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort. We miss you, and we will return!

"We recently stayed at the Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort and were generally impressed with its beautiful grounds, well-maintained pools, and excellent location on the beach. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were very accommodating, especially Mr Razak who was so friendly and attentive! The breakfast buffet had a wide selection, but the dinner menu could have more variety. We used the gym and it has everything you would expect to see however I think some of the equipment could do with updating. One minor downside we went to the sea and find it was extremely rough due to strong wind and rain but overall, we had a wonderful relaxing stay and would definitely consider returning."

Roomservice should serve hot food and chef should know that you dont put dried bay leaves on burger patty. Fries were cold and not crispy at all. Service overall is slow and it looks more like you are annoying them with asking for food. Don't know how they are rated as 5 star hotel. Hotel in general needs lot of TLC and staff need some training. Restaurants are so with food and dishes are hit and miss. Kids club is a pay for each activity and was occupied by a group of Chinese retirees.

we appreciated the warm welcome upon our arrival, our overall experience did not meet the expectations associated with a 5-star hotel in Dec 2023.

Room Quality: We were excited about our initial booking but were disappointed to learn that the room was unavailable. We commend the friendly receptionist for assisting us in upgrading to a family room with two bedrooms. Although the spaciousness of the room and the balcony were appreciated, several aspects fell short of the basic standards we anticipated:

Room Condition: Although the furnishings exhibited some signs of age, we believe they could be acceptable if properly maintained. Unfortunately, we noticed a musty smell in the room, which detracted from our comfort. Additionally, the limited power sockets, with no USB ports, and some exposed wiring raised safety concerns. It is crucial to have well-mounted sockets to ensure the safety of guests charging their devices.

Television Size: The television in the family room was unexpectedly small, resembling like a computer monitor rather than accommodating the larger screens typically found in other guest rooms.

Bathroom Cleanliness: The washroom window/ blind were heavily stained, failing to meet the pristine cleanliness expected at a resort of this caliber.

Buggy Service Coordination: We experienced poor coordination between the front desk and the buggy service. Despite multiple reminders, we waited over half an hour without any transportation, ultimately necessitating a long walk under the hot sun with our luggage. Enhanced communication and efficiency in this service would greatly improve guest satisfaction.

Dining Experience: We had dinner at one of your restaurants, which featured a lovely ambiance and picturesque beach views. The food was tasty; however, the chicken served with fried rice was not warm, which is something that should be addressed.

Significant improvements are needed in room maintenance, communication, and service consistency.

Dear Trek47668419627 Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We sincerely apologize that your December 2023 stay did not meet the five-star experience you expected. While we’re glad you appreciated the warm welcome and room upgrade, we regret the issues you encountered, including the room condition, cleanliness, and buggy service delays. We understand how these impacted your stay, and we’ll address them with our team to ensure improvements. We’re also pleased that you enjoyed the ambiance and views at our restaurant, and we appreciate your positive comments about the food. However, the cold chicken served with your fried rice is something that should not have happened, and we’ll make sure to address this with our culinary team to prevent it in the future. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope you’ll give us another opportunity to provide you with the true five-star experience that we strive to deliver. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future under better circumstances. Warm regards, Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort Team

I've always seen some good and bad review about Avani Sepang, hence after its opening for years, most time we'll just decide to go with other hotels. Before the school starts, I decided to book a last minute staycay near KL to pre-celebrate my boy's birthday and giving Avani a try.

Upon arrival at 5:30pm, there were no bellboy to assist us at the lobby. We're unloading the luggage and some handcarry ourselves. The guard walked over to show us the direction of free parking (apparently parking in the Avani compound is considered valet parking and required RM25 per entry! i mean, didnt we paid enough premium price for your room?). A buggy car carrying few passengers suddenly appeared near us and the driver was shouting "beep beep beep!" and bang into the staircase right beside me. If i didn't pull my boy in time, both of us will be injured. I informed the incident to the hotel reception, who is a very friendly person. He claimed something wrong with the buggy, will asked them to stop driving it. As you can read here, all didn't start well.

Our room is pretty near the lobby, so we don't mind walking to our room and take a long walk to the clubhouse. the swimming pool is pretty small and super crowded, so we head back to the lobby and enjoy the beach next to it. The sand is soft and comfortable to walk on, and there were some paid activities available but all closed around 6pm. We went for dinner near the resort, once we head back I decided to go for shower. The water heater is not working, which it claimed will takes 10 mins to heat up but it is still not available after 30 mins. We've dialed "0" but it is not the lobby reception but call centre to assist us. Call centre claimed will send help ASAP but guess what? No assistance come even after 30 mins. My husband had to walk to the reception and made a fuss there, but still no help arrive until 45 mins later. 2 technician came, and informed me that there are only 2 of them assisting more than 200 rooms. They're busy handling all sorts of problem. So, more than 1 hour after we reported the incident, the technician is NOW still trying to fix our heater and the receptionist show no intention to change us to another room. It is 10:30pm, all of us cannot take our shower nor resting. It is an extremely terrible experience at a self claimed LUXURY resort.

I hope the breakfast, spa and resort activities tomorrow will not disappoint us any further.
*update - at the end, the receptionist offers a gesture compensation as an apology. To avoid any sensitive issues, i shall not elaborate further*

A 5 star resort in an Asian country I rate as a 4 star. But do I give this resort 4 stars? I arrived today for a stay of 9 nights. I arrived by taxi and there was someone directing the taxi but what you expect at 4 or 6 stars is that the Porter unloads your luggage and makes sure this comes later in the room. But no, I brought it to the reception myself. The wait for check-in was long, there was one friendly girl who had to arrange check-in. I had digitally filled in everything so that check-in could be quick. Unfortunately, that took long, long stories that you can't remember in the end. On the map many restaurants were crossed out and it is not clear to me whether the spa is open. I took my suitcase to my room and trudged up the stairs. When booking it is done if they are all overwater stays but that is not so. I am on the trunk of the resort where 4 hotel rooms are in one building. In itself a fine room but some things are outdated. The pool at the end of the trunk at the beginning of the palm is small. This section is also outdated and people are working everywhere. If you stay here then you are actually dependent on your own transport. There is no public transport and the nearest town is 1.5 hours walk. There are some good open air fish restaurants outside the gate. Otherwise you are assigned to the resort, the sea is blubbery brown in color and does not invite you to swim in. Outside the gate, Grab works happily so that a cheap taxi ride like Uber can still take you to the towns nearby. I look forward to breakfast tomorrow, greetings from room 013!

The villas were quite solidly built and one could hear the waves but do not feel as if one was on a boat. But due to the recent heavy rains, the water wasn’t as blue but muddy looking.

The staff members were very friendly from the security guards, to the concierge to the front office staff and housekeeping. Shout out to Dave and Puteri from the Avani Kids activity centre.

The food was excellent, with so many varieties. However, being in a resort, I would rather see the cooks doing live cooking, such as making the chapatis or roti canai.

Overall it was a good getaway for my family and I.

We had a lovely time at the Avani resort. From the time of arrival all staff were very welcoming and courteous. The resort is luxurious and well maintained and gave us the first chance to stay in Water villas built inside the water. The check in was smooth and the front office staff Farisa & Danial were very helpful and polite and did their best to give us a good room with a view. They also explained all the resort amenities to us in detail..The Buggy driver Subramaniam was helpful with our baggage and helped us settle in the room. The food at the restaurant Sepoi Sepoi was delicious and reasonably priced. Our waiter Danish was always smiling and ever willing to please! Breakfast was also very elaborate with a huge tasty spread! The whole resort is very serene and peaceful and a great place to unwind and relax. Will definitely be back again..:))

Whilst the hard product was not that bad and the room upgrades, as well as late check out for the room was fulfilled, we felt that the overall service delivery should be better for a property of this category for the following reason:
(1) There was no welcome amenity in the room for titanium member.
(2) In a room which was supposed to fit four guests (for the room which we were upgraded room), only one toothbrush was provided. It gave of the impression that the room was not cleaned and checked before handing over to guests.
(3) In our email to the reservations team before our visit, we asked if the TV was a smart TV which we could connect our laptop, and the answer was yes. You could imagine our disappointment of us lugging our laptop there, only to find out we could not connect it to our laptop.
(4) We also saw from the property’s website that bicycle rental for free was available with a deposit. On our first day, we called the reception and was told to call another office for the status of the bicycle. The person on that line told us to hold while he check, and told us there was no bicycles left for today and asked us to visit and check it tomorrow. On the second day, when we went to Avani Kids, we were told the bicycle rental was discontinued for quite some time already. Can you imagine the time spent to ask all these, only to be told be the team there was no bicycle for rental due to a lack of communication amongst your team?
(5) The TV in the living room stopped working for some reason in the middle of a show. We called reception to send someone to fix it, but waited for quite a while yet no one was to seen. Had to make another call before someone came to reset the TV box. It was working for awhile, but the TV stopped working again after that. We were pretty fed up by this point to call again for the fix.
(6) At check out when we asked to check how much D$ can be used to offset the stay, the FO staff seems very unsure, and took almost 25 minutes to process our payment and find out how to find out how much D$ can be used and deduct it. The FO clearly did not follow our instructions and advise us on the maximum D$ to use for the stay before deducting (as we did not want to utilise all the D$ that we can use for this booking), but she went ahead to deduct the maximum which can be used. When asked to reverse, she asked us to give her a reason for reversing the transaction, which we find absurd.
