Everything about our stay here was amazing. We were welcomed into the hotel and upgraded immediately. All of the staff, including Tina, the super friendly house dog were accommodating. We had a campfire one night and relaxed in the hot tub another. The room was big with AC which worked perfectly and windows to open for a breeze. There is an awesome restaurant next door serving meat and vegetarians options. You can walk to the beach from here but we preferred to drive to a more populated part with the beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels the hotel provided. The breakfast consisted of pastries, fruit and Real eggs made exactly to order. If you are looking for a little slice of peaceful heaven with reliable WiFi - this is your place! We really felt at home here. Thank you! …
We picked this spot on a whim while we were headed up the East Coast of Uruguay, and all our expectations were exceeded. The staff was super kind, the grounds were gorgeous -- so much so that we decided to alter our plans and stay a 2nd night. The location is not "downtown" Jose Ignacio, so our rental car was important in getting around, but would absolutely stay here again.
Prepare to be welcomed into the home you wished you had! Delightfully relaxed Uruguay style ! Destination not to be missed! Beach - dunes- natural setting - no high rises in sight! Close but far enough away from Punta del Este for peace and tranquillity!
We stayed here for just 1 night on our way along the Uruguayan coast. The hotel's main building where breakfast is served is really pretty with lots of windows. The rooms are basic but had everything we needed. About a 3 minute walk down the road brings you to the beach but the sand dunes are so wide that it's another 5 minutes to get to the water. By far the best part of our stay was the staff. From arrival to departure, they were always there to help with a smile. They turned our vague thoughts on a meal into the perfect restaurant recommendation. When we said we wanted to go to the beach early they left all the beach supplies we would need outside our room the night before.
We stayed here for three nights in January 2019 and enjoyed it very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were the perfect combination of modern and rustic. They offered a delicious breakfast each morning and often had ambient music playing in the main area of the posada during the day. It was located a bit farther from the main part of Jose Ignacio than we expected, but we had a rental car and it was only a 5-minute drive. (If I had read the hotel's description more carefully, I probably would have known this.) The only thing that made us a little uncomfortable was what appeared to be a Bible verse on the receipt when we checked out. As a same-sex couple visiting from the United States, this made us wonder if the hotel's management or owner would be accepting of our relationship, but we felt very welcome during our visit so it wasn't a problem for us. I generally think that religion and politics should be kept separate from business, but that's just my personal opinion. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to others!…
