Nice and relaxing place to stay alone or in family. Nice and quiet place in the middle of the forest to enjoy the sun (100 m from beach) or a walk through the forest. Well maintained and confortable rooms.

Everything was perfect. We loved the place, specislly the garden. The beach was supernice, walking distance. We enjoyed the restaurantes of the área, and the concept of coocking in fires and mud ovens. The owner Alexandra was really nice. We will be back for sure!!

We visited CDL as a Uruguay beach break after visiting Argentina. Uruguay, especially Jose Ignacio, is MUCH more expensive than Argentina. Food and accommodation can be twice the price, and snacks/ice cream 3-4x !! We paid US$1.20 for a scoop of ice cream in Buenos Aires, $4.50 in Jose. All of which was fine as we are not on a limited budget. We'd stayed in high end boutique hotels in BA for $160 or less, so 6 nights at CDL we thought reasonable at $912. While at the lower end for Jose we were attracted by the nice location, the innovative designer container environment and the seemingly high end designer furnishings in the pictures on Hotels.com and other sites. Our communications with Alex, the owner, and Marina her site manager, had been excellent and all through our stay both they and their team were wonderfully helpful and hospitable. As a result of that, and perhaps our traditional English reserve, for the first 4 days we ignored the disappointment of the general shabbiness of the ground floor unit 2 we were in, and the poor quality of the fixtures like bathroom, bedding and wardrobes, kitchen etc. However on night 4 ( apparently it was Carnival time, despite no-one advising us of this or any noticeable activities or public marketing ) we were kept awake by a party in the next door premises until about 4.30am, and people in the upstairs unit being noisy. OK, one of those things maybe. But when it happened again the following night with especially upstairs stomping around with what sounded like clogs on we decided to leave a day early, taking all the other factors into account. We stayed a night in a 4 star hotel in Montevideo for $110 before catching the ferry back to BA. In terms of lessons, and advice for future travellers, we made the mistake of judging Jose pricing on European /Argentina levels. We should have looked at double the budget for the standard of premises we wanted as we didn't know how desired Jose is as a destination. However, in our view, while it's a nice beach resort, there are many better resorts across the world where $150 pn would buy you good well maintained accommodation. In terms of deciding whether you should stay at CDL, I should say that if we had had no sleep disruption on those 2 nights we'd have stayed and put up with the other factors. Grubby bathrooms, small bed and thin bedsheets we've encountered many times on our travels! While the price IS mid range for S America, it is budget for Jose and we got what we'd paid for really. Having said that, at any price level grubby bathroom units and a wobbly toilet cistern are basic maintenance items and should have been attended to ages ago. So if this is your budget limit, do visit as the location, close to the beach and a short drive to Jose centre, and people are pretty good, but if you're expecting more from your unit, don't!!

I spent a wonderful month there. Ms Dellplane was an extremely helpful host, fluent in both English and Spanish. While the taxi and bus service is good, you need a car. The apartments are spacious and well cared for with large porches. The WiFi is excellent. The apartments are in a beautiful forest on the edge of Jose Ignatio.. Beach life is accessible. Punta del Estes is within an easy drive. It was a great adventure being there at the Dellplane apartments.
