L’Auberge du Rayon Vert (the inn with green ray) is built with beautiful rocks from the countryside, facing the beautiful sandy beach of Port Salut, located in southern part of Haiti. From its arches, you can admire the magnificent sunsets. The refreshing shade of the gallery will allay the heat of lazing on the beach. You will certainly get the chance to see one evening, "the green ray!" …sipping away on cocktails of the hostel. Come enjoy the only European cuisine of the province in a warm and family environment.

This is an oceanfront hotel. I would like to start by saying this hotel does not receive enough credit at all it is absolutely beautiful! It is what I would describe as a country French style hotel. When we arrived the lady at the desk was ready and waiting for us and I loved that. The rooms were extremely clean! The hotel staff was wonderful. They also have a restaurant a few steps away and the food was nothing short of high class. The only thing I will say is there is no power during the day only at night. So 7pm-7am but to be honest It didn’t bother me because the breeze from the beach helped. I would love to stay there again.

Food was just wonderful. The French chef provided a menu which would have held its own in any decent restaurant in Washington DC. We arrived with a large group with few expectations but the rooms were clean, staff were friendly, and the food was really worth the miles travelled. Port Salut and Les Caynes are so very different from Port au Prince.

Prior to a business mentoring visit to Les Cayes, we spent a couple nights at this quiet clean hotel. On the same property is a French restaurant with excellent food. Across the road is a swimmable beach with white clean sand. A short walking distance away you can have lobster dinner on the beach. A great place to get away and rest, and all at reasonable prices.

Let me qualify that I stayed at this hotel while working on a hurricane relief project so, while I was there there was no electricity, water and Internet. None of this was the hotel's fault. It was because of the storm. With that said, it looked like a nice spot. The staff was accommodating and the restaurant was good. Despite the hurricane situation the rooms were clean and I would think it could be a beautiful location when things are more normal.

I live in Port-au-Prince and this is my get-away and stay sane in Haiti place, The restaurant is fantastic and the beach clean and empty most of the time. Highly recommend! Rooms are clean, showers strong - and they let me bring my dog - they have two running around the hotel.
