We came to this hotel- motel after a charged day on the Megantic mountain. The place, when looking from the outside or even reception area is not very luxurious or inviting, but the room was very clean and nicely furnished with everything. The decoration is simple but everything is well maintained. You have a regular key for your door, not the magnetic ones we are used to in bigger hotels. It comes with a sufficient sized fridge and microwave plus all the necesary for your morning coffee. The AC is a bit noisy. At reception, there is also a conventional small heating oven. Right next to Le Chateau, there is the Le Renato restaurant. If your breakfast is included, it is brought to your room. Overall , an ok stay for our family even though on the expensive side for what it has to offer.

We stayed in Lac-Megantic for one night at Le Chateau and were not disappointed. Helen was very friendly during the reservations process over the phone and email and check in/out. The room was very clean and decorated nicely. It had a full size coffee pot which was a bonus and large mini-fridge and microwave. Free Wi-Fi available. It is not a modern room but that was fine. It was super clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! The bathroom was clean and had a tub. No iron or ironing board in the room, but just ask the front desk and they will deliver one to your room to use. Located on the main street right across from the Maxi supermarket and just down the road from the Cheese Factory. We would definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Coffee with real cream/milk a nice touch. Owners are super friendly and helpful. They take pride in their business and the town of Lac Mégantic. It was great to be able to store our motorcycles in the garage. Highly recommended.

its funny that i came here to review the staff because they were so nice and most of the reviews i read said the same thing ! the room itself is very outdated but clean and tidy. the water pressure and temp was great ! better pressure than at home. but it truly was the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners ( i believe ) that made it a great stay ! I had to attend to some business and found myself in a small and unfamiliar place, but staying here made it feel more welcoming and homey !

Everything was great, location and rooms, and I would highly recommend it. I had to leave sooner and with short notice and everyone was very accommodating with the situation which was really appreciated given the circumstances. Would definitely go back.
