My friend and I got separated on our western Canada motorcycle trip. The owner/manager of the Virden Motel did his utmost to help me track down my friend. He provided me with his cell phone to send and retrieve Hotmail messages.
The room was adequate - dated but clean with decent towels. The price was reasonable and was well used by a variety of travellers.

Room Tip: Some rooms face the Trans-Canada Highway. There is a wing away from the road.

What can I say, the owner was a friendly enough guy. You get what you pay for unfortunately. Room was very dated, Beds had seen better days, felt like I just sat in a hammock. Chairs were uncomfortable and dirty. Located very close to the highway so there's lots of noise. I just needed a place to wait our a big Thunder shower, a downpour would be a better description, and this place fit the bill. Good enough for me but definitely wouldn't take the wife and kids here.

We needed a room for the night on a cross Canada trip, this room showed up on the internet as being moderately priced. The room was clean and newly renovated. As with many renovated motels, the plumbing was ignored and still very old. No hair dryer but, a comfortable bed. All in all, it was adequate for the price.

I have stayed at this motel before and it is a reasonably priced place to stay the night while travelling.

There is a Boston Pizza down the road for a bite to eat and a refreshment or two.

The bed is not the best but after driving for 12 hours anything feels good.

There is a free breakfast that has cereal, toast condiments juice and fruit.

Room decent enough, will NEVER go back, had the worst experience trying to leave early, Expedia failed me by not being able to answer myself or the managers requests to change check out date! My booking agent tried to help and was terribly mistreated. After several phone calls by her was finally able to reach a supervisor at Expedia (too little too late by this time I was mad and had had enough). Came to an agreement with management to pay extra 2 nights to leave! Horrible experience, distracted me from my job, made me so mad I was not a nice person to deal with! I’ve never in any of my many across country stays had this much problem leaving early from a reservation!!!

Only place I could find a last minute room. Smells musty. Bed squeaks and has a big dip in middle. Pillows thin and only two. Woke up at 10:51 was going to call front desk for a 30 minute later check out. No phone. He come at 10:55 and said time to go. I asked for 11:30 check out, told no. Get out or buy another night. Worst service. Sh$tty room.

Was so gross. I've never seen such a dirty room. Traveling late at night and this was the room I was given. Went back to the front desk for a refund and it was closed for the night. Woke up to use the washroom at 3:30am and there were spiders everywhere! Decided sleeping in the truck was a better idea and left

Horrible accomidations. Filthy, breakfast starts after clients already leave for work. Water smells like sewage. So far, 2 out of 7 days, room not cleaned. Told that only 1 towel available for our room. No bottled water.

Upon our arrival early evening after a busy day travelling we were trying to find a place to stay the night with our dog and the lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.... They have only 2 rooms suitable for pets and when we got there it was spacious, clean, had a fabulous tv, coffee machine, plenty of towels and comfy. By no means modern but just what you need....Bed was very comfy...Continental breakfast was included free in the very reasonable rate for the three of us and it was fantastic offering good quality items to set you up for the day which you don't normally find in some of these places.... A little haven for the weary traveller 10/10 from us....
