Foodies and wine-lovers, you can thank Kelowna's microclimate for making all the edible deliciousness that Okanagan Valley offers, including those spectacular orchards. But staying near that farmland doesn't require ditching all signs of urban life. Downtown Kelowna offers some semblance of nightlife at its pubs, bars, and clubs, with the waterfront city park close at hand. But art lovers may prefer camping out in the city's Cultural District, which--true to its name--is stuffed with museums, theaters, galleries, a waterfront promenade, and 18 pieces of public art. Those seeking a bit more quiet could bunk in Pandosy Village, centered around Pandosy Street, with boutiques, cafes, and international eateries. Need even more peace and solitude? Head to West Kelowna, which features easy-access hikes below Mount Boucherie.
