    Know before you go
Why do people come to Penticton? They come for the scenery. And the lakes. And the wineries. The list goes on and on for this charming city. Another major draw is the weather. You can expect some of the warmest days in British Columbia here, so pack a swimsuit and hit those Penticton beaches. In terms of lodging, most hotels are clustered near the lakes at each end of town. Properties on the north side are an easy walk from craft breweries and excellent restaurants, while ones on the south side tend to be cheaper and quieter. You'll also find a great assortment of vineyards, inns, and lodges a 20-minute drive up the east side of Okanagan Lake in Naramata.
