The Royal Mint is Britain's oldest organisation and the only place in the world to make circulating coins for the UK. Join a tour with an expert guide, who can bring our 1,100 year history and explore the processes of coin making from blank to bank. Discover the oldest and rarest artefacts in the collection. Come face to face with items that date back to circa 886 AD, explore our impressive range of medals, find a legendary 1933 penny and try to lift a 400oz gold bar! During a tour, you can play a practical part of our history by striking your own coin as a precious keepsake. The coin design changes periodically, reflecting a current theme, event or anniversary.
