The location was very good. It is near the subway station (12 min walk). Main business street and large mall are walking distance. This includes Mcdonalds and KFC. Western food at times is nice, it is sometimes difficulty to find western food in China. You can walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square from hotel ( about 15 min). Take your passport with you, they may ask for ID near Tiananmen square. A few staff members speak broken English. They are not warm like the staff members in the interior of China. I recommend because of the location.

I stayed here for two days and I was very impressed. I live in China and often travel on a budget, so I kind of have an expectation of what a hotel will be like. Usually it's a bed that's less than soft, a street that's fairly noisy and a staff that doesn't really care if you stay or not. So I checked into my hotel and first off I was happy to see that it was on a side street, so the noise level was not bad. I got my room key and went up. The door was open. A bit odd. I went in and while the bed was made, the bathroom was still a disaster. So I found the housekeeper and told him that my room wasn't ready and told him the room number. I just wanted him to come tale care of it. I didn't mind waiting a moment. Immediately he starts to panic and tells me that room isn't ready. Straight away he's on his radio to the front desk and after 10 seconds he's in my room taking my bag and helping me to another room. He was very apologetic and I told him it was really alright. Within a minute of being in my new room, the manager shows up at the door with my new room key and also apologizes. Score big points for the staff caring about your stay. Then I sat on the bed and while it was no pillow top mattress, it was far better than most other Chinese hotels I have stayed at over the years. The A/C unit was in the right place too (which is good because Beijing summers can be rough). The only downfall to the hotel is the distance to the subway. If you want to grab the train you have to hoof it for about 20 minutes and you might want to take a trained guide with you as well. But there are buses about 1km away. The only thing about the hotel is no one there speaks English. I have survival Chinese language skills so I was alright. But if you are traveling and don't know the language, you might want to stay somewhere else or get a local to do some interpreting for you. The last thing I can say that is a negative is there are no room darkening curtains so when the sun comes up at 4:30am you are fully aware of it. If they invested in some, it'd be even better.

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel mainly because of the location being central and near a metro station and the price being very good. Getting there with taxi was quite hard, although I showed the taxi driver the name of the hotel in Chinese and the location on the map he managed to get lost, then he called to the hotel to get direction. The hotel is located in a residential street so most of the taxi drivers wouldn't find it. The 2 rooms we got wasn't in the same level. One of them was much better than the other so there is a chance you'll get either. Both rooms were nice and clean but a bit small. The main different was in the shower room. The help desk didn't understand English like other places in China and had an internet computer there (no wifi in the hotel). Our main problem with the hotel was in regard to their so called offer for airport shuttle. When we checked in they told us that there is an airport shuttle we can book but when we came the next day to book it they say that there is no airport shuttle and they can't even book us a taxi (we planned to leave at 4:30 am so we wanted to make sure we'll have a taxi). After a long discussion with the help desk (using google translate) they still didn't help us by booking a taxi just saying that we should go to the main road and catch a taxi there. It was 600 meters in the rain with 2 children and luggage to get there so keep it in mind if you choose this hotel. Other than that it's good value for your money.

In a very nice local neighborhood. 100+ meters from metro makes getting around convenient and cheap. Rooms average. Nice bathroom. Clean but maid service a bit spotty. About 20 meters off the main road so look up to see the sign for the building. Mgr. speaks English and very helpful. Staff wanted to help but language barrier limited the effort.
