    • Mr Straw's House
Come and discover a 1920s house captured in time...Step back in time to the 1920s and find out how a grocer's family lived in this market town. This ordinary semi-detached house, with original interior decorations from 1923, was the home of the Straw family. For 60 years the family threw little away and chose to live without many of the modern comforts we take for granted.Photographs, letters, Victorian furniture and household objects spanning 100 years can still be seen exactly where their owners left them.As the house is rather cosy, it is essential to book a tour in advance - just give us a call to do so!

Wow! From the moment we entered the building we had a lovely experience. The manager, Phil, and all his staff were super warm and friendly. We also ate in Beefeater next door. Rad and all the waiters were so natural and helpful. We had a great stay. It made our working weekend really enjoyable.

Quiet location just off main road. Had very helpful & friendly staff. Clean room too. A slight problem with lock, meant we had to move rooms for 2nd night. Staff arranged the room change straightaway.

Super site in the heart of Clumber Park. This is a site for couples or families that like to walk (as there is nothing for kids to do here.) The cleanliness of the cabins and site is impeccable as are the wonderful staff. You can choose a jacuzzi with the cabin if required. (This is apparently drained and cleaned for each new visitor) There is a small shop and food cabin on site, i think food is only available for breakfast at the moment, low season, but other times open most of the day. Sadly, the mattresses are well worn even though these are fairly new lodges. This can/will affect your night sleep. So, it loses 3 stars just for this, otherwise this would be a 10-star site. Would i go again? Yes. (i just hope they renew the mattresses) You get free entrance into the national trust park, if you walk, (2-mile walk) no discount if you drive in.

You know precisely what you are getting when you stay at a Travelodge. Clean, modern, comfortable with minimal unwanted frills and inexpensive - our stay for one night cost less than £50. Car parking was free and conveniently located next to the lodge. 2 major gripes however: the lighting in the room was poor and dim - just 4 wall lights and a ceiling light next to the exit door gave light almost too low to read a newspaper. The bathroom needed a refresh, the shelf was ring marked and generally looked grubby (even if it actually was cleanish). The sealand round the bath was (as in many lodges) rimmed with black mould - very off-putting when showering. It shouldn't take or cost much to remove this sealant and replace with fresh, clean and white to give a much better impression of the bathroom. All-in-all though, good value for money and a convenmient stop on the A1 going north.

This hotel has had a big refurbishment in the last couple of years. No longer Best Western, its part of Fraser’s Group. It has improved everything, and is an excellent place to stay. Friendly staff, very comfortable beds, excellent wifi throughout, there’s very little to fault. Centrally situated in Worksop with free parking. Highly recommended.

Kids love staying here with their grandparents for the Halloween half term. They have been visiting for 9yrs now. Fancy dress parade is usually the highlight but this year the disco put on by Andy and Lindsay (wardens) was another level of fab, both kids absolutely had the best time. The wardens did themselves proud, such a fab event. The refurbishment to the site is great, the facilities are lovely and the site is always clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend all year round but for kids the Halloween half term and trick or treating is a must. Bring your costumes and decorations as "best dressed caravan" is a prize in itself Another disco again next year please 🙏

I always love coming here, lots to go for everyone. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the food - bought in scones and sandwiches where the filing had been scraped on, please don’t cheapen the quality of the food, it’s such a shame as the NT has always been such a high standard.

We visited The Angel Inn, Blyth,Notts on Wednesday evening 3/8/22 after a trip to Leeds. The service by KATIE was faultless, a very professional yet friendly and cheerful young lady, nothing was too much trouble an asset to this establishment. The food was really fresh and hot, and was perfect in every way. We’ll certainly re visit
