We had an amazing experience with the stingrays. They are in the wild and not in captivity. After a brief briefing you board a speedboat for the short ride out to the floating pontoon. Snorkling equipment provided and they have a photographer although we were encourage to take lots of our own photos and videos. The rangers and all the staff were excellent and really encouraged those who were nervous to get in with the stingrays. The more relayed you are the more relaxed they are apparently and they were very happy to interact with us all. After an hour or so we returned to the shore for complimentary drinks and they had shower and changing facilities and reasonably priced snacks available to purchase. We found everything to be extremely well organised. Photos were available to view and purchase which cost $15 for the first digital image then $5 for each additional ones. We purchased 2 and I liked the fact there were no heavy sales pressure at all. The photos were airdropped immediately to our phone. Other formats such as prints were also available. To address some of the negative reviews I think what made all the difference for us is we were in a small group it being low season. I can imagine the experience being quite different with hundreds of visitors. Take a towel and rash vest and a camera. It really is worth the experience.

We choose the combination tour of Stingray City and Laviscont Island to see the Giant Aldabra Tortoise, the planet’s oldest living animal. What a fantastic day! Your taxi will drop you at the mainland office area for Stingray city. You will have a brief introduction about what to expect and how to handle the stingrays for their safety. You then load onto a small boat for a quick boat ride to Stingray city and man were there a ton of HUGE stingrays. They have ample food so that you can experience feeding them if you want to. You can hold them if you want to and they will take pictures of you or you can use your own camera. Because we did the combination tour we were there for an hour (we felt that was more than enough time) and then we loaded back onto the boat and had another short ride to Laviscont Island to see the Tortoises. That was pretty cool too. You will learn about the tortoises, you get to feed them and you also get to see some tropical birds that are there as rescues. When all is done it is back to the boat for a very short trip back. There is a bathroom facility on the mainland office area. This was a great experience and I highly recommend it. You can book directly through the Stingray City website (no need to book the overpriced tours through Sandals or whichever hotel you are staying at). On our way back to our hotel, we paid a little extra for the taxi driver to go see Devil's Bridge (because it is on the same side of the island). It was very pretty.

I had an excellent experience and enjoyable time at Stingray City. This was something I wanted to try for many years and decided to try out on my recent trip to Antigua. The guides were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and made me feel safe as I was solo. I was able to feed the stingrays a few times and had assistance until I was comfortable feeding them on my own. The guides did a great job interacting with the groups and ensured everyone had an opportunity to hold, feed, and take pictures with the stingrays. They even assisted me in taking photos with my phone. After the experience, they offer complimentary rum punch or fruit punch and you have an option to purchase photos. The photos are very reasonably priced and they have printed and digital options. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, recommend highly, and would definitely book again.

We were collected by boat from our hotel beach, and taken to the sandbar in the middle of the ocean. The water was about chest height, so most of the group were able to stand comfortably in the water. Our guide was fantastic and made us feel safe and comfortable. We were given a quick safety briefing, then they let us hold a ray and take some pictures. We fed the rays and were offered some snorkels, and spent an hour or so with the rays and tropical fish. The rays are amazing! Free to come and go as they please, but they obviously know where the food is! We were then taken back to the base site, where we were given some drinks, and the opportunity to view/purchase photos (no pressure at all. We chose to buy a couple and they were airdropped directly to our phone). There were also bathrooms/showers/changing rooms to use. Stingray city was the highlight of our trip to Antigua! Highly recommend! (But wouldn’t recommend to people not comfortable in the water or with wildlife).

Swim with sting rays, it says on the tin, and that's what it does. I got a great picture, one swam right underneath me, the boat ride was fun. A bit chaotic at the start so pay attention but when the rays appear, it's magic.

We had a great time. At the beginning we were afraid it was going to be crowded because there were many people but they devided us into different groups and boats and spots. There was enough time to enjoy swimming with the stingrays, feeding them and taking pictures. The guides were also very nice.

This was the BEST thing we did in Antigua. You can see how excited the FREE stingrays are when they follow your boat to the meeting point. Stingrays are not captive and you can see they form relationships with the people who work here because they very calmly get hugs and are being held even when food is not involved. They come and go as they please. A plus is many other types of fish visit too so there is also nice snorkeling.

This was a very dope experience. The crew and staff go out of their way to make sure you are not only informed but comfortable and not left out of the activity even if you are a bit apprehensive at first. The briefing is short and to the point. The boat ride to the site is quick and little bumpy but fun. Once there it is so beautiful, you don’t really need to know how to swim as the water is right below your neck (I’m 5’8” for reference) they offer snorkeling gear. The stingrays are big and intimidating at first but once you get acclimated you realize they are chill and nothing to be afraid of. Again the staff at StingRay City deserve all the props for how well they handle the stingrays and the tourists. You can see how they genuinely enjoy their jobs. If you’re on the fence - JUST DO IT!

This was the highlight of our visit to Antigua. It is worth the multiple hours it takes out of the day. My kids had lots of fun touching and feeding the stingrays. It was a nice boat ride to get there as well - Stingray city is out in the ocean not at the shore. The staff was cheerful and fun and made sure everyone got their turn. The photo they took of our crew together is so good I'm having prints made. I highly recommend it.

This was one of our favorite excursions from our cruise. This was so well run. We rode a bus to the location to board the boats. The boat ride out is lovely. We docked and the stingrays just came right up to us. The family that runs this operation was excellent to help you get a group and individual photo holding rays. They took them with a waterproof camera. Then they helped everyone learn to feed the rays. They had named many of the rays that come often and the guides were great to interact with kids, teens, and adults. They made sure everyone had a turn and got time and photos with the rays. The fish there were gorgeous too. They provide snorkels. When you get back to land, they had rum and regular punch and you could purchase the photo downloads. The first photo was $15 and then $5 for each additional photo. It was easy to view and download your pictures. They had food you could purchase for a reasonable fee too and plenty of picnic tables to sit and eat or rest. It was a great experience for our entire group.
