- Cassie HCalgary, Canada1,082 contributionsCalgary itself isn’t the most spectacular downtown so I can’t imagine spending a lot of time up here - especially for the price. But we do like to take advantage of their specialty dining in the revolving restaurant. The city looks prettier at night, the food is good and you get access to the other levels of the tower as part of your dinner reservation.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 17, 2024
- rabrysonGlasgow, United Kingdom46 contributionsNot sure why the blurb for this suggests it’s “temporarily closed”. My colleagues and I decided to visit this on a free Sunday before attending an event at the nearby conference centre. The weather was pretty good and we got some excellent views. The information about its construction and subsequent alterations was also very interesting. There were some queues to get up (and down) because I think we came in behind a tour group and there was only one of the two elevators working. The queue wasn’t being managed very well by staff and it wasn’t clear from the entrance what people were queuing for. It took us a minute to realise there was a different, shorter queue for tickets but we had to push past the line for the elevator first. If we hadn’t realised this we’d have walked out and maybe come back later. Would have given it 5/5 if they’d been more on top of this and/or had both lifts working. All in all, definitely worth the $23 for an hour or so. Would recommend.Visited October 2024Travelled on businessWritten October 26, 2024
- philiplkLondon, United Kingdom1,087 contributionsDecided to go up to the observation deck of the calgary tower. The ticket was 24.15 cad for a person. There was no queue for the lift and I soon got up to the deck. It offered a 360 view of the city and nearby surrounding areas. The views were great. There was also a small section of de k where the floor was glass for people to enjoy the views below. There is a small cafe selling drink and snacks. There is also a 5 mon show explaining the history and building of the tower. A good choice to get nice views of the city.Visited February 2025Travelled soloWritten February 11, 2025
- NYC EdgeQueens, New York423 contributionsWhen you go to Calgary, the Calgary Tower is one of the attractions to visit. Yes, it's not the biggest of the towers around but it does provide nice views of the city. In addition, it's not expensive and you can probably complete your visit in about an hour or two, depending on the crowds.Visited February 2025Travelled with familyWritten February 8, 2025
- Sara K55 contributionsWe enjoyed our visit to Calgary Tower. It was a nice touristy thing to do while in Calgary. We stood on the transparent step-out (got a little dizzy!) which is impressive, and the birds-eye views of Calgary are beautiful. We watched the video of the history and read some of the placards around the tower. It was a brief visit, but we enjoyed it as part of our Calgary sight-seeing. On our way to the tower, we walked by the Peace Bridge and stopped at Prince's Island Park - wow! This park is stunning and so well maintained. Afterward the tower, we stopped at the Wonderland Sculpture outside The Bow tower, by the Olympic Plaza (under construction in Sept 2024 and so was pretty unimpressive.) We also went by the Family of Man sculpture and to Stephen Avenue Walk and spent a bit of time at the Devonian Gardens. We had lunch and mid-day drinks on a couple of different balcony bars with great views, which was a great way to spend 3-4 hours in downtown Calgary.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten September 6, 2024
- jsd26Cardiff, United Kingdom170 contributionsI had read that the tower was starting to get swallowed up by the skyscrapers around it, which made me wonder whether it was worth making the trip to the top. It was! There was a good view of the city and the surrounding area with good information boards describing key features. Even the neighbouring skyscrapers added to the view.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten December 15, 2024
- Lynne BPineville, North Carolina7 contributionsEnjoyed visiting Calgary Tower on recent solo trip. Great views of the city from the observation floor. Enjoyed the glass floor area and ground views. I did not eat at the upper level restaurant with rotating views but heard some people commenting that the food was good and they enjoyed the experience. Recommend you add this as part of your Calgary stay.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten September 1, 2024
- Lee LValhalla, New York2,288 contributionsI kind of make it a point when I am on vacation to go to the observation tower/deck in town and take a look from the highest point of the city. This was pretty uncrowded; it is no longer the tallest building in the city, but you still have nice views of the city and the surrounding areas. They also have a section where the floor is glass, and you can walk out.Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten October 7, 2024
- DavidTelford, United Kingdom529 contributionsThis isn't the most spectacular tower i have visited, however it is worth going to if you are in downtown Calgary. For this type of attraction the price is reasonable and the views of Calgary are nice to look at on a clear day, which we were fortunate enough to have. Staff were polite and friendly.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten September 3, 2024
- Ricardo D2 contributionsThere is not much going on in Calgary, but the views at night are great at this tower. Best to come around sunset and night time rather than day time. You can enjoy some great dinner there as well.Visited November 2024Travelled on businessWritten December 10, 2024
