Visited: 01/06/2023. Not a bad walk to see these Falls. Fantastically powerful and set with a stunning backdrop of mountains. Stunning to see the falls where the Glacier runs off from and beautiful blue waters. Nice little place to have a break from driving for some lovely views. If you are able to explore and follow the step trails (can be steep, be careful) and follow the falls to the massive lake it flows into. The entire area is beautiful. Includes lots of stairs so most of it in not accessible for wheelchairs.

The path to the falls is relatively short and convenient to walk, provided you find a parking space. This can be difficult as early as June. The sheer masses of water are particularly impressive in the falls. Through a bridge you can admire it from both sides.

These falls, just 30kms south of Jasper, were so picturesque! I absolutely loved them. There was a large volume of water when we were there in September. Clear, paved paths, with some steps, led to viewing areas at the top, middle and base of the falls. It was interesting to view the falls from these different angles, especially the canyon, potholes and downstream flow. It's about a 1 km out-and-back trail (15mins), but allow more time for admiring the scenery and taking photos! Athabasca Falls may not be famous for height or width, but the volume of water and background of forests and mountains create a stunning setting for these gorgeous falls. There were toilet facilities at the car park.

Whilst the falls were still frozen in late March, Athabasca Falls is a must stop en route from Banff to Jasper. The real plus was the lack of tourists. It was so peaceful in the mid afternoon with no one else around.

Outstanding - 10 stars. Very impressive with falls, backed up by forest and mountains. In my opinion, this is one of those "don't miss" places in Alberta. However, we were there before the horrible fires. I don't know what it looks like now. But even if many of the trees were burned, the falls and mountains behind are spectacular. Again, I emphasize that I visited before the summer 2024 fire - but I still strongly recommend coming here. The train is worth taking - recommend at least an hour.

We came around 9 in the morning and it was already pretty crowded due to tour buses, but we were still able to access most of the viewpoints. Gorgeous falls with several viewpoints and frequent rainbows. Worth the stop!

Gorgeous scenery on a day with vivid blue skies! Athabasca is roaring with energy and looks mighty💪. Nice hike. This falls and canyon are much more beautiful than the Johnston Canyon. The trail is easier and shorter although both are of moderate difficulty.
