We had a great time at the Winnipeg Zoo. The animals are well taken care of and zoo keepers were kind, friendly, and very helpful! We loved the polar beers, seals, and monkeys! It was us and our early 20’s kids and we all had a great time. We highly recommend!

This is by far one of the best zoos I've been to! Most of the animals were active or at least visible. Enclosures are large and well maintained. Food was delicious and eating next to the polar bears was unbelievable! The dining space and bathrooms were very clean and the staff were exceptional. We also like the layout & lush vegetation, if felt like we were on an adventure through the park.

This zoo ranks at the top of the major zoos we have visited throughout the US and Europe. The diverse animals are spread out over acres of land with wonderful habitats. We particularly enjoyed the Churchill exhibit which features numerous polar bears on the tundra, underwater and in rocky settings. The Tundra Grill allowed you to eat and watch the bears frolick or rest lazily. The family of Gibbons were entertaining, the snowy owl and snow leopards gorgeous. But there is so much more. Staff and numerous volunteers help direct you and answer your questions. There is a tram through part of the property to save some walking if you choose. The gift shop is full of shirts, hats, and plush stuffed animals. We saw numerous groups of children touring. The zoo is ony one part of this amazing Park. Enjoy their website for photos of what you will see and a map of the grounds. Allow several hours to enjoy the zoo.

We went there on a hot day (it must have been about 25 degrees and above and we went there in the afternoon. A superb zoo on the other hand, considering the heat the animals remained in the shade. Hey no, they don't stand in the sun for our pleasure:D It's a big zoo with several fascinating animals to look at. Much of the park deals with polar bears and their preservation. We were lucky enough to see one that was golden in the sun:) Considering that we went there at the end of September, I could see that for the month of October the zoo is transformed for Halloween. Already magnificent decorations were installed and underway. I really recommend this zoo!

The zoo has some terrific exhibits - the gibbon house and outdoor area is particularly interesting, and some that could be better in terms of cleaning the glass so the views of the animals and their habitat is clearer. But that's a minor point. It's a good zoo in that the areas for the animals are large enough that if they want to have privacy they can; that means you might not see them all, but that's better for them. We did see a LOT of animals, and being in the "underwater" area was ethereal.

Some parts of this zoo were outstanding and other are need of some love. The front half of the zoo felt a little random in the animals on display and the layout, and those exhibits seemed more basic and uninteresting for the animals. Toucan Ridge is an awesome indoor tropical garden sure to rejuvenate you on a cold day, and Journey to Churchill is deservedly hyped as the zoos highlight. Having lunch with polar bears playing right beside me was my favorite part of the visit. Reasonably priced, but be sure to make a couple loops past your favorite exhibits if you don't see the animals on a first viewing.
