    Really well curated and interesting
This is an interesting museum covering events like the explosion in the bay and the Titanic rescue. Good value for money and a lot of model boats and pictures. Boats are not my thing, but I was happily captivate for a couple of hours. Thanks to Philip for answering my random questions.

    Excellent Museum
My husband and I went to this museum while in Halifax. I was mostly interested in going for the Titanic exhibit with the artificacts included. However, it had a lot more to offer as Halifax has had quite the history. This museum also goes into details about the 1917 Halifax explosion. I also particularly enjoyed the exhibits on the ship wreckages and the exhibit on sailers from Halifax who spent months sailing around the world. The price was great. There was a $1 discount for AAA/CAA memberships. We spent about 2 hours. We parked on the side of the building for a fee. A nice giftshop is available.

Ahoy all sea lovers - this museum is worth your time.
This is a relatively inexpensive museum, but a good experience if you have any interest in the sea or ocean voyages. The Titanic exhibit is the best I’ve seen (still don’t totally understand connection to Halifax, but the items displayed and explanations are great). There’s a whole section on shipwrecks which is interesting. But the great explosion on a ship that took out half of the city was news to us - and so very interesting. There are some wooden sailing boats, but those are less exciting & we didn’t bother with the 2 short (old) films. The maritime displays were worth our time.

    Good interesting maritime museum
A very interesting museum. I won’t write about the museum itself - there’s already a lot of information about it, I’ll write about my impressions: I would like a slightly larger size to accommodate more exhibits, and I was partly upset by the fact that the Titanic model was relatively small in size, unlike other ship(confused with Mauretania). Otherwise a very nice place with a wide variety of interesting exhibits. There are even interesting places for children (I didn’t take pictures of the room with the research vessel, since there were a lot of children there).

    Educational
The RMS Carpathia rescued the Titanic survivors and took them to New York. The deceased and a lot of artifacts were taken to Halifax. This museum has the best collection of model ships that I have ever seen. There is a Lego Titanic made by a young man with Autism at the Titanic Museum in Tennessee. This museum and the one in Tennessee have the best Titanic collections that I have seen.

A fun way to spend a Monday
This place is everything I hoped for and more. It really walks you back to another time. The wooden ship models are immaculately proportioned and clearly worked on for many hours. I can feel the love in this place.

    Beautiful museum
Musee is very well done, alive (track play, introduction to the Morse language...) and in English, French and Mi'kmaq languages. Several sections including one on the Titanic, the 1917 explosion (particularly moving), the Mi'kmaq culture or the Franklin Expedition. Two and a half hours as a family we didn't see pass. Special mention to the two gentlemen of the telegraph company who taught us how to send messages. A very good time

    Pleasantly surprised!
Such a pleasant day of learning at a really affordable price. Staff are very informative and the amount of history piled into this museum is amazing. On a hot day, this is a great way to cool off as well. You can come in and out throughout the day.

Great fun visit to the museum !
What a fun and interesting place. We were a family of 8 and everyone found something interesting to explore and learn about. We loved the free tour of the Explosion exhibit and then browsed all other exhibits. Highlight was the Titanic and the Explosion sections along with the sailing and boat display in the large room. Very pleasant staff and the kids were able to complete a fun scavenger hunt. Would highly recommend.

    Far better than expected
We really enjoyed our 1.5 hour tour of this museum. So many interesting exhibits covering everything from the Titanic disaster to the Halifax Explosion, as well as a variety of ship wrecks in the Canadian Maritimes. All of the exhibits were very well done. So much to see. So much caught our eye that we never even knew we wanted to know about. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
