Hotels near Niagara Falls Canada

The crashing waters of Niagara Falls—comprising two American falls and one Canadian—are truly a sight to behold. Get up close on a boat ride (be prepared to get soaked!), enjoy amazing aerial views from the Skylon Tower or on a helicopter tour, stroll along the White Water Walk, or hit the Journey Behind the Falls attraction that offers views of the falls from below and behind. Adventure seekers can also go zip-lining, jet-boating, hiking and cycling with the falls as the backdrop. For a truly magical experience, stay after dark when the falls are illuminated. For peak water flow, visit between June and August. – Tripadvisor

    Niagara Falls Spectacular
Niagara Falls is a spectacular event! We went there by bus from Toronto. An easy, comfortable 2-hour ride. The Falls is absolutely out of this world! The sheer spectacle is spell binding. We were so close to the water and yet it felt both safe and a little weird at the same time. The force of the water is so powerful. The mist and the droplets from the Falls are so incredible, you would think at times it's raining, but rather welcome during a hot day. There are other things to see in the town itself, like a museum and so on, but the Falls is the main event! This is absolutely a must visit. Unforgettable!

Yes, the Canadian side is favored for a reason!
Everyone said to visit the "Canadian side" of the falls and now we know why. Both falls are much more visible from the viewing locations on the Canadian side. So, if you have a passport, pack it and go to Ontario! We stayed on the Canadian side and you can see the falls, the tunnels behind the falls, the whitewater rapids, the whirlpool, and the night time illumination...all from that side. We didn't spend any time on the American side because we felt we'd seen everything well enough. We only spent one night, and we splurged on a hotel with a falls view, which allowed us to watch the fireworks from our room. (But note...apparently the fireworks aren't offered after early October.)

    Always impressive falls
The falls never fail to impress! I had gone to the American side as a kid, but the Canadian side is so much better and worth coming over from the US if you aren't already in Canada. Don't forget your passport! The town on the Canadian side was very touristy and reminded me of Las Vegas which was not our favorite part of the trip. Crowds were not so bad in late September, so we were able to move through it quickly. The behind the falls tour was wet, but amazing to see the force of the falls! Definitely worth going to.

    Love the Falls, but….
Loved the falls! Great public facilities around horseshoe falls. But…Prices for food and drink are very high in the town. Several public parking lots. Loved the Tunnels behind the falls and lower observation deck.

Truly awesome - Allow two days and visit both sides
The Canadian side has the best views and hotels. But lots of tacky amusement arcades and souvenir shops. The US side has a peaceful park (free access) right next to the falls, which is well worth a 2-3 hours visit. The falls are lit at night from the Canadian side. There are fireworks in summer but not when we visited in late Oct. We stayed in Canada and spent our first day there looking at the falls from the observation decks that side. On day two we walked across rainbow bridge (cost $1 per person, take your passport/ID) and explored the park. We did the short walk to Goat Island which looks out over the falls and walked through the woods. Journey behind the falls on the Canada side is worth doing. Take the boat from either side. The experience is the same. Be prepared to get wet even with the poncho they give you and be ready for the fact that you can’t see anything as you get close to the falls. There’s just too much spray. A great visit to one of the wonders of the natural world. Felt in awe of the creator and stunned that there are people dumb/desperate enough to have gone over them in barrels!

    nice to see falls
If you go in offseason (Nov-Mar) or something like that, believe they divert water to use for energy, so think water flow is higher in peak tourist time. October good time, smaller crowds and nice fall colors. Stayed onCanadian side. Did boat tour - go first thing (10am this time of year), get their a bit early, so get on first tour. Will get wet, poncho only covers so much. Then can go to the behind the scenes at 11am. Cruise area, not a lot of parking, may have to pay to park, or buy parking pass ahead of time, and bus over. Parking lot more toward behind the scenes. If had to pick one, do cruise over behind the falls. Still need to go to walkaway along side of the falls. if on USA side, you see water go over (you are more at top of the river) - unless you get to a vista outlook or take a boat. From canada side you see the whole falls and water flowing over and nite lights.

Amazing - but leave the city out
A place that I always have wanted to visit, and it didn’t disappoint. You are really captivated by the view and can stand for a long time looking at the falls. The surroundings are not that fun. The amusement park-town that Niagara Falls is, doesn’t appeal to me. On the contrary, once we left the Falls, we couldn’t leave the city quick enough.

    Amazing Niagara falls
The falls are absolutely amazing could have looked at them all day. Great atmosphere would definitely recommend them. Fantastic boat ride to the falls and walk behind the falls. Went on a helicopter ride which was awesome Great shopping loads of places to eat during the day and at night. Hotel room had a view of the falls and was comfortable and clean. Nice walk from the Boat up to the falls. Spent quite a lot on evening meals but definitely worth it. Would go back

    What a fantastic nature wonder
Absolutely amazing nature wonder. It is 12,000 years old. There are two waterfalls in Niagara, the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The Horseshoe Falls are 180 feet (57 meters) high. The word Niagara stems from the word "onguiaahra" meaning "a thundering noise". Unfortunately we stayed at the biggest scam hotel ever:Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel and Suites. When you book a Fall view make sure you really get a fall view and not another hotel view with a limited look at the falls. So, the Niagara Falls is absolutely breath-taking make sure you get the right hotel when staying there. See photos taken while walking along the falls.

    Niagara Falls visit Finally
My wife and I visited Niagra Falls for the first time and captured some stunning photos from the Embassy Suites and ground level. At Niagara Falls, the thundering roar of cascading water welcomed us and visitors to this awe-inspiring natural wonder. • Misty clouds rose from the powerful falls, creating a refreshing and invigorating atmosphere for those who ventured close. The weather temperature was around 45 degrees, with a mild wind misting the falls. We visited around 1 PM, and took the mimi-tram to the Falls ground level. Tourists donned ponchos, and goggles as they embarked on the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour, getting an up-close encounter with the mighty Horseshoe Falls; we stayed on land. The vibrant lights illuminating the falls at night transformed the scene into a mesmerizing display of colors, casting a magical glow over the rushing waters. Be prepared when eating at restaurants and the addition of 13% sales tax!!! The meal prices were exorbitant, but we enjoyed the trip and will again return. Whether exploring the surrounding parks, capturing breathtaking photos, or simply gazing at the sheer force of nature, a visit to Niagara Falls left indelible memories of its majestic beauty.

  • Rainbow Bridge Hotels
The Rainbow Bridge across the Niagara River connects the two cities of Niagara Falls, on both the U.S. and Canadian sides. You can cross the bridge by motorized vehicle, bicycle or even on foot, as long as you have your passport—though note that there is a toll fee. There are even duty-free shops on both ends of the bridge. The crossing takes less than 30 minutes, though peak summer season can see delays of up to one to two hours. Many tours from New York or Ontario stop at, but may not cross, the Rainbow Bridge—you'll get magnificent views of the falls and even the occasional rainbow (naturally!). – Tripadvisor
