Built in 1914, this castle on a hill overlooking Toronto is regarded as a treasured heritage landmark. At Casa Loma, you can explore three levels of elaborately decorated rooms, including the Conservatory which has Italian marble floors and Ontario marble side panels. Permanent exhibitions and special exhibits here feature early Canadian history. The castle is also a popular place for private events, and serves as a backdrop for film and photo shoots. Surprisingly fabulous
This exceeded expectations due to the variety of interesting parts. There is the history of the house owners, with many set piece rooms, views South towards the city, beautiful gardens, information about the many film scenes shot here over the last 40 years, and a fabulous creepy Halloween display along an endless underground tunnel. It all made for a great visit of 3 hours or more.

    What a place!
Really lovely fairytale like mansion with so much to view inside and outside in the garden. Fantastic view from the balcony of garden looking over to Toronto City. Amazing. Don't forget to go to the stables and tunnel, interesting to say the least! So glad we managed to fit this in.

    A Beautiful Large Castle
Casa Loma is North America's only full sized castle. The architect, E.J. Lennox was engaged by Sir Henry Pellant in 1911 to build a castle on a hill overlooking Toronto. Visitors can explore the main floor, second and third floors. There are many interesting rooms. The Conservatory is lovely. There are guest suites and Sir Henry and Lady Mary's suites. Lady Mary's is quite large, almost like an apartment. The adventurous can climb the tower. We did not. On the lower level is the wine cellar, gift shop, cafe and more. We had lunch at the cafe and it was surprisingly good. We all had sandwiches, Cuban and turkey panini. The patio is spacious and has a great view of Toronto.

X-men, legends, turrets & views. Read on for tips for you trip.
By the time we got to Casa Loma jt was late afternoon. We’d had a full day of touristing and the kids were verging on hitting terminal capacity. Despite their huge fandom of the x-men movies that were filmed here, they were not enthusiastic. That was until they met the incredible guide. What an amazing transformation. I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name, but let me say now, thank you. You made the history of Sir Henry and Lady Mary’s extravagant home come alive for my two boys (7 & 9). Secrets, puzzles, quests were shared with passion and performance. The boys couldn’t get enough of the stories. And as the sun started to set, we took a final look at the beautiful views over the city, and reluctantly headed home, full of imagination. The toronto city sightseeing bus stops at the bottom of the hill at the back of Casa Loma. If you have a buggy or mobility issues you might prefer to take a taxi to the front door, or there is a car park on site. If you’re planning your trip during school term time try to avoid school drop off and pick up times as you pass through a few traffic stand still school zones near the castle. I’d recommend taking some water/snacks. Admission is included in the City Pass package. If you do this and the CN tower you cover the cost. If you’re looking for a bit more of an experience they sell events like Halloween Haunted House, & Escape Rooms on their website. There is also a fine-dining restaurant on site, reviews were mixed and we had the kids with us, so didn’t try it, but it would make an atmospheric location for a robust chianti. :-)

    Amazing!
This home is the Canadian equivalent of The Breakers in the U.S. Homes built by the incredibly wealthy around the turn of the century. Both have similar styles, rooms, and designs, which was very interesting! I loved the eclectic decorating style (who has a pipe organ in their home, besides a movie villain?!). The history of both the family and the property were captivating. Definitely a must see for any history buff.

Loved the show! Love the castle.
Legends of Horror - we had a great time. The actors and the displays were amazing, very professional art work - makeup and sets. We really enjoyed ourselves. However, we purchased VIP tickets and did not receive wrist bands, had no idea where the food was that came with the package and had no drinks as the bar was way too loud. VIP tickets are twice as expensive and we had the exact same experience as the general admission tickets. Will go again but VIP is not worth it.

    BAMA vs Purdue weekend
Casa Loma is huge. We did the Holiday tour of lights. It started off slow but finished impressively. I cant imagine the amount of work that goes into this display. There for a while I thought we were in the cellar but we came out two blocks away in a different castle. Pretty amazing place.

If you like architecture this is a great place to visit.
We bought our tickets through Toronto CityPass. This was a great tour for our family that appreciates architecture. The tunnels, attic and towers were fun to go through. We were able to tour all the grounds in about 3 hours. A great side trip.

    INCREDIBLE MUST SEE EXPERIENCE
This is an absolute must see if visiting Toronto. The castle is VAST and took us around 2 hours to walk around and that was us not looking or reading everything so you could definitely take longer to walk around. You are pretty much allowed in all areas of the castle bar a few and there is an underground tunnel under the castle that takes you across the road. The tunnels are long and are behind “secret” passageways. When I went, they had an installation similar to a Madame Tussauds set up which we thought was so random but still fun (although some of the waxworks are slightly dodgy!) All rooms have information about the room before you enter and there is also an audio guide. We got our tickets from CityPASS. I’d recommend doing the same to save money and see other sites. I would probably visit again if I went back to Toronto.

    Worth the trip!
Amazing! We took our 9 and 13 year old, and they loved it, though they did get tired by hour 3. The towers are a must for a great view of the city, but beware that only one is open air. The mini movie about Sir Henry Pallett was amazing. Don't forget to go out back. Also, make sure to download the Casa Loma app in advance for the audio tour. Also, you can only see the stables' outside from across the street.

Immerse yourself in the heart of Toronto’s bohemian culture at Kensington Market. Restaurants and hole-in-the-wall eateries offering food from all over the world are interspersed with vintage thrift shops, coffee joints, tattoo parlors, bars, art galleries, and Victorian-style houses. The area is part gritty, part chaotic but it has tons of personality. The best time to visit is on Pedestrian Sundays (last Sunday of the month from May to October), when street parties and festivals are the highlights. Take public transportation to get there as parking is hard to come by. You can experience the neighborhood on a food, walking, or bike tour. – Tripadvisor
