Don’t assume you don’t care about wrestling and hip hop. Excellent experience.
Great fun. Not a mainstream museum, which beforehand worried me a bit. The exhibits were wrestling, hip hop and (a small one) Quebec law. The first two were surprisingly interesting for me, someone w zero interest in those specific topics. But it’s more about the history and individuals than the topics per se. Great curation/ museum design

    Great special exhibits
Well laid out. Special exhibits are extremely well done. On our visit, there was an outstanding special exhibit on Roman gladiators and an interesting special exhibit on québécois wrestlers and carnivals.

Our visit to the Musee de la civilisation
The best parts were the Gladiator exhibit and the farce act by acrobats near the lobby (several show times per day) . My kids loved both. The "First Nations" exhibit had some interesting sections. I had no idea there were so many designs of snowshoes. We skipped the wresting section since it is a sport that has no interest for us. All and all, it was worth the visit.

    Very interesting
Very interesting and varied. Visit made with two teenagers aged 14 and 16. The guided tour of the Place Royal district (1 hour) is very informative and lively, for Quebecers and foreigners. The two permanent exhibitions: it is our history and Quebec, in other words, allow us to explore the history of the country and its relations with Aboriginal people. Many interactive games for children in Quebec in other words. The museum offers various tours and workshops included in the Ticket Award. We can spend hours there.

    Professional Digital Displays
Huge building but not exactly what I was expecting. There were several exhibitions in different areas, concentrated on very specific things. When I went, it was the indigenous peoples, hip-hop, Trans people, and boxing. Except for items in the first one, mostly it was all digital displays. Still, they were professionally put together, containing interesting information.

FREE hidden gem! wonderful view on the waterfront from the 3rd floor balcony
We did not go into the museum but we DID however accidentally find ourselves on the free 3rd floor balcony of the Museum of Civilization. (we had been looking for a place to sit and have a coffee but found the resto in the museum to be too fancy), and accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem. NO admission, but had a wonderful view on the waterfront with some explanations of what we were seeing . Definitely recommend this as a stop. Just go in thefoyer, then towards the resto, then take the elevatory to the balcony .

    Great Museum
Very cool to see so much from the past and also more modern exhibits as well. There was one on the history of wrestling in Canada that was a great surprise and really cool to check out. Also one on rap music from Canada.
