    Fantastic visit
We have been going on holiday to Torquay for many years now, but never visited Torre Abbey before. We visited for the first time this year and we had a fantastic time! Loads to see both inside and outside in the gardens. The gardens were beautiful, there is a large greenhouse with lots of exotic plants, and loads of other lovely plants in the gardens. Also, am arid greenhouse with cacti in. There are also plants for sale too! Inside, there are many rooms to see, lots of artwork and also the brilliant Paddington exhibition too. The staff are all very nice and helpful too, the medieval undercrofts are a must see too! Will definitely visit again, a really brilliant day out that was very reasonably priced.

    Very Abbey we visited!
There wa a lot to see at the Abbey including the gardens, abbey ruins, tropical plants in the greenhous, exhibition on the history of the abbey, as well as exhibitions on art and on Paddington bear! There's was a lovely peaceful atmosphere at the Abbey and you could easily spend a few hours there. We had to get a train so didn't manage to get round all of it. The abbey exhibition was very engaging as there was video clips of the different characters involved in the history of the abbey. The abbey is very near to the seafront and easy to get to. There's a cafe in the Spainish Barn which didn't have big choice of food and what we had tasted good (tea & cake) . It looked like there was ongoing restoration so maybe in the future there'll be more choice in the menu. There's a kiosk serving panini's and other hot food in the grounds which seem to be separate from the museum.

    Awesome Abbey
This is a good historical venue to pass a couple of hours. There is quite a lot more to see than you first think. The abbey is full of good historical displays and explains the history throughout the years. The gardens are very colourful and beautiful to explore too.

    A revelation
An outstanding attraction presented with imagination and flair. It highlights the history of our country by linking it with episodes from Torquay’s past. The growth and subsequent suppression of the monasteries. The wars with Spain and France. Religious upheavals. History is brought vividly to life. Some stunning art work as well. And even Paddington Bear made an appearance - albeit for one summer only. The Spanish Barn has become a charming and unique cafe - though it would benefit from a wider choice of food and drink. And the garden and the greenhouse provide a stunning backdrop. Thanks to all staff for a warm welcome. They clearly all love the place but particular thanks go to head gardener Ali whose knowledge and enthusiasm are impressive

Great day out. Something for everyone
Torre Abbey is an amazing place. Huge and inspiring and tells its history through Henry VIII ‘s dissolution of the Monasteries up to the present day. We had a great time and the animated audio- visuals were compelling. The gardens and Palm house were very well kept. A lovely place for a picnic lunch.
Thank you for your complimentary review of Torre Abbey! Our goal is to offer visitors a comprehensive journey through time, and we are delighted that you enjoyed learning about the history of Torre Abbey, starting from 1196. Lastly, we couldn't agree more that Torre Abbey is a lovely place for a picnic lunch, its a bit cold at the moment but still wonderful! We appreciate you taking the time to share your positive feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Torre Abbey in the future for another memorable visit!
