    History at its best
What an amazing place to visit. A credit to the owners who have created this little gem of history. Spent almost two hours in here. So informative and interesting. There is something for everyone, so educational too for children. Well done to all concerned. Loved it.

Family Run Fun for all of the family
We had an amazing morning at Bygones (one of the highlights of my trip) Bygones really is for any age to enjoy. I was apprehensive about bringing my toddler at first but he enjoyed the fabulous displays and brilliant interactive stages of the tour. We also had a 19 year old with us who took in much from the visit (with this not being his usual activity or interest) he was asking many questions and taking much away from it. Staff so pleasant and explained everything upon arrival. Gave a safe space to leave our pushchair and couldn’t do more for everyone. Bygones has a warmth about it that you only find in company’s that work from the heart. A fabulous family run business.

Life as it used to be
To see the examples of how things were in days gone by was amazing. The amount of pieces of artifacts was really impressive and gave you a real sense of what life was like throughout the years. Seeing the old sweets, chocolate bars, tea and coffee brought back loads of memories. My wife was really taken aback to see a railway sign for Burscough as she had stayed there as a young girl. I had a chat with the lady who owns the museum along with her brother and I was impressed by the dedication to detail that was on show. All in all a must see venue.

A REAL STEP BACK IN TIME
This is a surprisingly interesting and welcoming place to visit. If you are of a certain age, it will bring back memories in the various 'shop windows' and displays. For the younger members, they will find the whole experience very pleasing. The displays are extremely well mounted, informative and interestingly laid out for all ages without being boring. This was our second visit and we will go again because I'm sure we missed things. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced.

    Perfectly Curious Curations! 5⭐️
An absolute gem that transports you through time with meticulous attention to detail. Every nook and cranny has been carefully crafted, making it an all round fascinating experience. A few of the mannequins might send a shiver down your spine, but for me I loved them! The doll collection is very impressive and a few of them are a bit creepy, if they chose to do an haunted night time tour I’m sure it would be a sell out!! I could have easily spent hours exploring the incredible assortment of artifacts. A personal favorite was the indoor street that housed various Victorian shops. The dedication to creating an authentic ambience is truly commendable. The intricate details and street noises make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the past. For history enthusiasts, the war memorabilia section is a must-see. The care taken to honor memories through letters and captivating stories adds a profound dimension to the museum. It’s evident that the curators are deeply invested in showcasing history at its best. The museum offers something for everyone – my kids were absolutely thrilled by the sweet shops and the glimpse of a bygone arcade, complete with a few working machines. The uniqueness of the experience speaks volumes about the passion of the people behind this family-run establishment. As for people who have left negative reviews, it’s clear they’re missing the point. This is more than just a business – it’s a labor of love. The entrance fee really is a small price to pay for the wealth of history and dedication on display. My family and I were delighted by our visit, and we’re already planning our next one. Kudos to the team for preserving history in such an engaging and memorable way! Thank you Bygones!

    Brilliant
Brilliant place, we both really enjoyed wandering around. Very enjoyable spotting items we once used ourselves at home. Well laid out, really recommend a visit...two amazing ladies in the cafe one even told my husband off for biting into his Eccles cake before his sausage rolls, we laughed a lot at that, saved me the job. BIG THUMBS UP 👍

    Amazing 🤩
I remember visiting once back when I was a child and constantly remembered it growing up, me and my brother used to chant ‘chestnuts come and get your roasted chestnuts’ as there used to be a little doll that chanted that out over and over. Fast forward and now in my mid twenties when thinking of things to do around the Bay with me and my partner, I remembered how much I wanted to revisit now I was an adult to really take in all the facts/figures etc and I am so bloody glad we did. My partner is from Cornwall so had no idea what bygones was and had never heard of it, as a bit of a history geek he was in heaven. Amazing place for all and we’ve both said we would definitely return back for another visit. Amazing family run business which gives such a great insight into times back in the day🥰

    Quirky but fascinating
Thought we would visit following a look at the publicity material. We were not disappointed. Plenty of Victorian bits and bobs but what enthralled me most was the collection of WW1 and WW2 medals, especially the ones to a member of a Dambuster’s crew. We will be back once our grandchildren are old enough to appreciate the exhibits.

Bygones is a must if you love 'the olden times'
Me and my family visited bygones whilst on holiday in Dawlish, and we had a lovely morning. I've visited bygones twice when I was little and coming back as an adult it did not disappoint! I remember bits that are still the same and anything old, victorian or war time I love! So me and my family thoroughly enjoyed our morning. The couple who run the museum was lovely and helpful. The time they've taken to make their museum is just amazing. I would definitely recommend to those who love the olden times!
