    Great way to travel
We used the underground extensively whilst staying in London. Probably frequented most stations in central London over the 4 days we were there! The service was good, usually on time. Only issues were on some lines the trains were old and they were uncomfortably noisy. Also on occasion it was extremely busy and there was a lot of pushing and shoving. We used out debit cards to travel so it was easy. Journeys are priced individually depending on what zone you are in and there are also daily and weekly caps. We hit our daily cap most days we were there and that capped the cost at £8.10. Children under 11 travel free with a paying adult - just tap your card and both of you go through the disabled / pushchair gate.

    Good quick service
If you want to get around London I’d recommend the tube. Download the ap for quick and easy ways to get around. Very convenient to use. You can also download step free guide which shows you the stations to use with a buggy/wheelchair

    Every Credit
I have been on the Underground countless times when visiting the Capital but thought it was time to give credit. A great system that gets you around London and always friendly staff. Easy to navigate and now with paying with your phone you don’t have the issue of queuing for your ticket. At least London have done this right well done.

Great transport system for locals and tourists alike
The underground has to be one of the best transport systems in the world. It is incredibly easy to use though not particularly cheap. We were in London for 10 days and probably spent 100 pounds each on the tube. Still, it gets you everywhere - quickly. Plus its colour coded key is incredibly easy to use. There are some delays but they were rare when we were there. Good old Earls Court line is still the most likely to have problems

A pleasure to be back on the rails
It's been over 10 years since last I travelled on the tube, it was amazing to be back riding the rails again. The tube is amazing, clean, efficient, and helpful with helpful information and members of staff there to help. I am very impressed with the security and the policing along the network, certainly a reassurance. Loved the new Elizabeth line very modern. The stations were impressive, safe and very clean. A true credit to London.

Reliable even when delayed (compared to the rest of the UK)
Been travelling on the Tube for years. Tonight was my first time through the barriers at Angel and if you don’t like massive escalators don’t go there. Looked it up and it’s the longest escalator on London Underground. Anyway, even when the Tube is delayed they are very few minutes, so highly recommended when travelling around London. Just watch your belongings as pickpockets do work the Tube.

    Wheelchair accessibility gets an A.
I can't believe how well the Tube has taken to becoming so wheelchair accessible! Very friendly and helpful staff. I never felt like my needs were a bother or a problem. The systems are confusing to a tourist, but the staff are quick to tell you which lines you need and which stops. They call ahead for a ramp to be waiting for you at the stop if it is needed (some stops are easy to go from platform to train car). My sister and I were there in early April, and while busy, it didn't seem overly crowded like it might be during peak tourist season. I'm factoring in that info when I say we were never delayed by a few minutes (less than 5), and staff were easily available. I would recommend downloading the "stepfree wheelchair access Tube map" pdf and giving it a good look before you arrive but the staff are a great resource and help. I've never felt less anxious exploring a vast city and look forward to my next visit.

    Essential
Indispensable, fast and easy to use. Some stops are a little dirty, others newer and cleaner, some stops lower down so lots of stairs to climb and others closer to the surface. The ticket is a little expensive, but still the best way to get around the city.

Making it easy to travel by wheelchair on the tubes
The staff at Heathrow terminal 4 have been amazing. I am travelling with two young children and my husband and I am in a wheelchair. The service that I received from them was above anything that I have ever experienced with the willingness to help with making sure our travel plans went smoothly. Thank you to all involved
