Hotels near St Andrews Botanic Garden

St Andrews Botanic Garden is a living research and conservation experiment where we explore the ways ecology and evolution unfold in the plant kingdom - right at the heart of historic St Andrews. We're home to some of the most dynamic plants and habitats, from both Fife and around the world. We aim to address the new combination of challenges the natural world is facing with positivity, creating an ecologically vibrant place to explore and learn about evolution and botany. Our newest addition is the Tangled Bank, showcasing the very best of North East Fife plant life. Incorporating sand dunes, meadows, glades, meandering grass paths and a boardwalk, the Tangled Bank is a beautiful space to spend time. Our Visitor Centre offers hot & cold drinks and sweet treats, as well as our Gift Shop and Plant Sale.

What a gorgeous oasis in such a busy place. A short walk from the centre of around 15 mins at a gentle pace. Entry fee £5.45 was more than resonable, handy little map to give general directions. The gardens themselves were quiet and as tre weather was glorious it gave us plenty of chance to take our time and explore the many little paths. Well kept areas, good variation on collections of plants, lovely natural wildlife. A true pleasure to wander around

I had an amazing visit! I thought that perhaps there wouldn't have been a lot to look at, in view of the time of year, but the more I looked, the more I saw. I also managed a chat with one of the Rangers who told me all about the badgers and pine martens and squirrels and deer who call this amazing place their home. I could have spoken to this lad for days. (Ranger, if you're reading this I hope you know who you are. You made my day!) This beautiful special place is definitely recommend. I will most certainly be back. Thank you to all whos hard work make this place all that it is

This is an absolutely super place. Our two grandsons, 7 and 9, were entranced with it. There was pond-dipping going on when we were there, and they loved it, plus all the other spaces to explore and roam around. And they didn't see it all in a fairly short afternoon visit. Ideal for school hol times, or any other times. Now they have discovered it, their Dad will be taking them often from now on, and excellent value for family visits. Highly recommended, and very relaxing for us old folks too.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review Eric! We're so pleased to hear that your family enjoyed your visit and were able to take part in our summer holiday activities. We hope to have you again soon to explore more of the Garden!

We visited whilst in St Andrews. We had read the reviews and I was a little nervous. It’s not Kew Gardens, however it doesn’t pretend to be. We found polite staff, well identified plants and a great selection to purchase too! Great coffee as we arrived and a lovely meander around. Really enjoyed the tranquility of the place.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We're glad to hear that you had a lovely and tranquil visit - we hope to have you again soon!
