This large park on the north side of the city center hosts several formal and informal garden areas. I enjoyed wandering the paths through flower gardens, waterways, a Japanese garden and a formal rose garden. I was there during the jazz festival and heard good music at several of the stages. There is a large musical fountain on a pond in the garden that does a show every evening with music and lights. There are several cafes and ice cream stands throughout the park as well as a large playground for the kids.

The place is vast and beautiful, filled with different gardens, flowers, waters, woods.... You have to like walking on the other hand because it is big. We loved it especially on a beautiful sunny day. There are also several “café” places to drink or eat a bite. There is also a space with shows. Great for nature and tranquility lovers

We visited this beautiful park in April/May time with the rhododendron in full bloom. We got the u-bahn to Stephansplatz. Signs throughout the park to point you to the various sights. The weather was beautiful so the park had lots of people milling about. The Japanese gardens were worth the visit alone. Take your time and wander at your ease, bring a picnic if you can!

Considering how big this garden is, it's surprising how well-maintained it is. Plus it's free! If you love gardens, you should make some time to visit it. It's original purpose was a botanical garden, and there is still quite a bit of labelling of plants, but now the focus seems to be on beautiful landscapes. I probably was there at the best time of year for the garden, in late June after a spring with good rainfall. Everything was very green, the roses were in full bloom, many perennials were already blooming, and some spring plants such as Iris were still in full bloom. Every out of peak season, however, the water features and the trees would make this an attractive place to wander.

Although breathtaking in the middle of a busy city. However, seemed a little "worn out". Really cozy Japanese garden, but all water installations were dried, so some of the experience was lost. The tropical greenhouse was closed indefinitely due to renovation.

Beautiful green space for walking relaxing and contemplation. Lovely paths and seating areas where you can explore the scenery. Doesn't feel like you are in the city. Highly recommended for plant lovers gardeners and anyone who like to spend time outdoors.
