    Very "pedagogical" visit
Surprising that they don't allow photos to be taken when we have seen the palace on television hundreds of times. Interesting visit to form an opinion on the existence of the monarchy. In the guided tour there is no mention of that short man with a mustache who had us in his grip for 40 years. Good!

    Grand
We bought our tickets online the day before our visit so we were able to skip the ticket line. We still had to go through the same secure line where they x-rayed our bags and jackets. The first stop was the huge parade ground where you get a sense of just how large this palace was. To the left was the armory which was filled with a huge selection of armor (even for youths) and a wide variety of weapons. To the right and just before the exit was a cafeteria and gift shop. Through the main entrance we walked to the grand staircase. Fit to welcome royalty, dignitaries but no red carpet out for the tourists! The royal crest and ornately decorated ceiling greeted us as we climbed further. Unfortunately no photos were allowed through the rest of the palace. All we have were our memories of ornate decor and furnishings, paintings by well known European artists, lots and lots of clocks, and a very rare collection of a complete Stradivarius quartet. I lost track of the rooms we toured but it was just a drop in the bucket out of the 3000 plus. Both the king and queen had their own set of rooms, a huge banquet hall, a pharmacy and more. A brief but informative sign was posted in all rooms so it was helpful if you did not take a guided tour or rent an audio guide. We spent around 1.5 hours inside and greatly enjoyed the visit. Well worth it to see the largest palace in of Europe.

Little empathy from the kitchen guide
The treatment of the guide of the kitchens of the Royal Palace on February 14 at 11:00 was unpleasant and unprofessional because it seemed that he was more concerned with calling us out for speaking in a low voice than explaining the route to us. . He spoke in such a low tone that it was impossible to follow his explanation, and even though he knew how to speak English, he never addressed a few visitors who did not speak our language and they did not understand anything. I hope it serves as constructive criticism for future visits.

One of the largest Palaces in the world
We visited this palace during our visit to madrid and strolled the immense area. The Royal Palace of one of the largest palaces in the world. It is an official seat of a Head of State that is open to the public. Over 2 million visitors visit. At the rear of the palace there are great elevated views of the area.

Beautiful, definitely worth a visit in the evening
The palace is a dream. Extremely pompous from the outside, but also very impressive inside. It is particularly beautiful at sunset, as it shares a small square with the Almudena Cathedral, which is right next to it. From this square you have a great and, above all, unobstructed view of the Casa de Campo below and the sunset.

    Worth it!
Very worthwhile and enjoyable visit. On Wednesday their is the formal changing of the guard, not near the formality at Buckingham Palace, but view. We did not purchase tickets in advance, but took our chances and were able to get in after a short wait. Senior discount brings ticket to 7 euros. Spend the extra 5 on the headset, the detail on the exhibits and background are very clear. Almost all the security staff speak some English and you high school Spanish. Only negative you have to work your way around the group tours around you. Upstairs cafe is good for waters, coffee, snacks and light lunch.

    Excellent visit
Excellent! Both the artwork and the rooms were beautiful. It's completely worth it. Many people complain that the security guards are on top of the children, but the truth is that they only say something if a child tries to touch something. They just do their job! They didn't catch our daughter's attention because she is old and intelligent enough to know that she can't go around touching things.

A” must see” in Madrid:simply stunning.
The palace is not lived in by the royal family so you can see all the important rooms, all of which are very impressive. I would recommend booking a tour time online as the queue to get in is always lengthy. I would also high recommend the audio guide although there are boards in all the rooms that give you a little information about the different rooms. It is impossible to describe the grandeur and hugeness of the rooms that you see. Each is superb. My own favourites were the room adorned with nature and oriental figures, the small porcelain room and the chapel. The banqueting hall, which was 3 rooms knocked into one, was huge and the table which was set for a banquet enormous! The palace is a MUST SEE, so if you go to Madrid you really must see it.

    An overwhelming presence
I visited on a Friday, but there was a special event going on, so I couldn't go, but instead, I was able to see an event like a guards parade outside the palace. The march of the horsemen, musicians, and guards was magnificent, and the square was crowded with tourists (?) who knew about it in advance. When I visited the next day after 10 o'clock, there was a long line for same-day tickets, and I waited about 40 minutes to buy a ticket. After that, it seems that I had to wait for more than an hour. It seems that tourists who had purchased tickets in advance were able to enter through a different entrance or without waiting too long. As was stated in the advance notice, there are many rooms, so I think it's better to look at the guide in advance so you don't miss it. I didn't know how to use the free coin lockers, but there was always a staff member there who kindly explained it to me. Photography is not allowed, but quite a few tourists took pictures while being warned. If you visit here, you should also visit the nearby Almudena Cathedral.

    a must visit in Madrid
Visiting the Royal Palace of Madrid seems like a must for a trip in Madrid, I do suggest booking tickets in advance to avoid long queues and ensure a smoother entry process. We booked our tickets online for a morning slot at 11:15, but upon arrival, we found it a bit confusing to locate the entrance. There were multiple lines and gates, but with a bit of inquiry, we managed to find our way with the help of the staff. They just promptly guided us to the front of the lines, allowing us to enter the palace earlier! Once inside, the grandeur and history of the Royal Palace were truly captivating. Photography inside the palace is not allowed. While I do see some visitors discreetly snapped photos, not every room was monitored. During ticket purchase, we were given the option to include access to the gallery, The Gallery of Royal Collections, showcasing the selection of masterpieces from the Spanish royal collections throughout history. We found the gallery, located outside the palace beside the cathedral, to be less impressive compared to the main palace. Therefore, I would not recommend opting for the gallery unless you have ample time and a keen interest in the exhibits it offers.
