    Some very illustrious ruins
The fame of the Roman forums is worldwide and, despite being previously known thanks to photos, one has high expectations about them. The problem is when you get there because you collide with the reality of these very illustrious ruins. Frankly, it's not what I expected and it seemed like a rock to me.

    Worth it for the story
Landscapes and historical monuments that make for great photos. Leave to go after the Colosseum. To visit everything you have to walk a lot. Consider using an audio guide or a guide (person) to make the visit complete.

    Treasure trove of Roman civilization
Long considered as a symbol of Rome's foundation and glory, Palatine Hill stood proudly as the most renowned of Rome's 7 storied hills where upper class citizens built their opulent palaces during the Ancient Rome civilization period. Its historical and mythological significance is unparalleled - it was reputed to shelter the Lupercal, the sacred cave where the she-wolf is said to have nurtured Rome's legendary founders, Romulus and Remus, and it was the birthplace of the first Roman Emperor, Augustus. The Palatine Hill is an integral part of the triad of ancient sites that includes the adjacent Colosseum and Roman Forum whereby a single ticket grants access to all three historic sites. On Palatine Hill, you can see hundreds of ruins of imposing temples and palaces constructed for ancient Roman's high society, with the most notable being the Domus Flavia, House of Augustus, Farnese Gardens and Hippodrome of Domitian. There's even a museum displaying artifacts unearthed from the site. Together with the connecting Roman Forum, you would need at least half a day to cover the entire sprawling imperial ruins. Traversing the paths of Palatine Hill is to walk in the footsteps of the Romans through the centuries and unearthing the layers of time to appreciate its fascinating history.

    "Archaeological park"
The Roman forum was the administrative center of the city. Government, religious and commercial buildings were located there. Today it is an archaeological park where you walk through history; It is an impressive fact. Admission costs €20, but on the first Sunday you can enter for free. I recommend it to you!!

    A cultural gem
As I made my way up Palatine Hill, I was immediately taken aback by the stunning views of the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus below. One of the highlights of my experience on Palatine Hill was wandering through the lush gardens and terraces that overlook the city. The peaceful atmosphere and scenic vistas made for a truly unforgettable moment of reflection and appreciation for Rome's enduring legacy...

Simply amazing. See "Welcome to Rome" first.
Simply amazing! Such culture. Such history. To think that it was built SO long ago is astonishing. I recommend seeing "Welcome to Rome" before going here or to the Forum in order to see the full extent of what it once was.

Take a trip to Rome's Palatine Hill
Palatine Hill is one of the ancient historic sites in Rome. It's said that this is the site of the mother wolf raising the two brother who suckled her milk. The two brothers a founded the city of Rome. From this site, the Rome city developed into one of the most extensive empires in the history of the world. Palatine Hill is located in the center of Rome, which is part of Lazio. Trips around Italy usually take in a trip to Palatine Hill.

So kich history and such views
We had opted for the 48 hour full experience which included Palatine Hill although we chose in the end to cover all three sites in the one day. Palatine Hill again is so full of history to easy to imagine Romulus and Remus racibg through this hilltop area. It is however impossible not to gaze over ancient and modern Rome from this hilltop

    Palatine Hill
Beautiful views, good value for money. Gets extremely busy, some areas would be tricky to access for those less able as cobble paths and steep steps in places. Great views out over Rome

A must while visiting the colosseum.
This is a must on your trip to Rome. Add it to your itinerary when visiting the colosseum. Buy the tickets at the same time too. It is a very large outdoor historical venue. We didn’t have a guide with us and I regret that to a certain degree. After all, within an hour of exploring, you won’t know the difference between one ruin and the next. Without the backstory, you won’t know the significance of what you’re looking at. There are few signs here and there. Beautiful vistas. Don’t eat the oranges, just enjoy their fragrance. They are not grown for consumption. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful church when you leave, Basilica da Santa Francesca. It was an opportunity to enjoy a quiet moment of reflection.
