    An art gem
We wanted to go to Van Gogh museum but apparently the tickets were sold out for 2 weeks. Was walking around and then thought we would try to visit the Rijks Museum. Turned out to be a great gallery but too crowded. And definitely need more time to see all the artworks and explore the gallery. Highly recommend.

great are, not so great organization
This was my first visit at the museum after its renovation. It's one of the greatest museums in the world, but the organization has problems. One cannot buy paper tickets at the museum ticket office and needs to walk back at the museum shop to buy tickets. Online booking is quite cumbersome. The flow in the museum is problematic, very few signs and 'You are here' panels and we never could figure up how to connect between the two halves of floor 1. Restrooms are located only on the ground floor! Huge space in the middle with two information office replicating one the other but no escalators, only a few small and well hidden. This is really a pity, because the collections of the museum are fabulous, the works are well presented, all with English translated explanations.

    Vast collection
This museum is vast and eclectic. It's impossible to do it justice in one visit. There are many famous paintings including an unparalleled collection of Rembrandt's works which are well-known. Also Vermeer is well represented. But there are also other lesser-known gems like the paintings of Josef Israels, that I'm not sure how you'd know they were there unless you chanced upon them. There's a little pamphlet with an overview of the major artworks, but something more detailed might be helpful (although, to be fair, the museum displays 8,000 objects of art and history, from a total collection of 1 million objects)! It's definitely worth a visit or two, and maybe to plan ahead of time on what area to focus.

    Enjoyable
I'm writting in the pov of a visitor who want to understand the Netherland, not an art ethusiast. The musuem creat a very comfortable atmosphere with impecable cleanliness. Friendly staff with a very elegant gesture that they tell every visitors to wear backpack in the front to avoid bodying others when turning, I've never seen this anywhere. I wish the museum would tell more coherentlt about the history of the country, rather than pieces of history through art work and collections. I definitly enjoy this place more than the Louvre.

Best Enjoyed A Little at a Time
Don't expect to take it all in on the first visit. We spent two hours just enjoying the Gallery of Honor and the Vermeer and Rembrandt paintings. The audio guide is helpful and can just be used at each marked item, or as a guide by theme. Be sure to download the app before you go and it can even get you a discount at the gift shop. We'll be back!

Great area to visit even if you're not entering the museum
We walked to and around Museumplein and Rijksmuseum. We did not intend to enter the actual museum since we were with our little son. The place is a must visit for those who appreciate beautiful architecture and wide open parks. Just avoid the Museumplein on a hot summer afternoon. We also visited the Museumshop and checked out the numerous cafes/restos and eventually settled in the garden infront of Rijksmuseum.

    Beautiful art but very crowded
The amount qnd quality of art here is amazing and you should certainly see it even if you only have a passing intetest in art. The setup is attractive and well thought out however the crowds are not managed well and it is chaos inside. People pushing and taking tons of pictures, children running around screaming and so crowded that I couldn't even get close enough to appreciate some of the more popular paintings. The staff is polite and friendly.

Beautiful, Peaceful and Well worth the Money.
Plan to spend a day in order to see everything. This was a gorgeous museum with some of the most incredible works of art. They have a cafe inside in case you need a refreshment or something to eat. Very educational and it takes you back in time. The architecture of the building alone is worth seeing. Definitely worth getting to and experiencing.

    World class museum
I've wanted to visit here for years and it doesn't disappoint. We prebooked a 60 minute tour, it was about 6 people with excellent 'whisper kit' and v knowledgeable guide. This was a very worthwhile option. The museum is beautifully maintained and a joy to visit. Lots of really interesting exhibits, several Vermeers, Rmbrandts including the Nightwatch. Just a brilliant morning.

    Golden Age masters museum
I visited the museum a month ago and did the quick tour of master works of art. It took about 2.5 hours and it was a great way to see it. Don't miss the Vermeers, really sad that I missed the big exhibition by 4 days. But there were 6 of his paintings in the permanent collection. The Night Watch is incredible. it, however, was under maintenance and a portion of it covered. Lots of great Rembrandt's, Rubens's and many other great paintings.
