A really interesting castle experience! Due to how many times the castle changed hands over the years, and how many things have been added on and torn down, every room tells a really interesting story. Included in our ticket price (which was a modest £6 a head, I think we would've happily paid more) was a guided tour. Connor was a really great tour guide, very knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic about not just Oystermouth, but castles as a whole, which really made the tour worthwhile. If you get the chance, definitely make this part of your visit.

Oystermouth Castle is run by the local council. There is a toilet block in the grounds but no café though you can buy a tub of ice cream from the ticket desk. You get a small guidebook included in your admission price and this explains everything very well. There is a short video introduction in a little screening room by the ticket desk. There are also guided tours at certain times but we had just missed the start. There are also information boards in different rooms/sections with just the right amount of detail. You can go upstairs to the top for a good view over The Mumbles. Oystermouth Castle is an enriching attraction that should not be missing from your visit!

Oystermouth Castle is worth a visit, if not just for the views across Swansea Bay which are spectacular on a clear day. The castle is in ruins, although a couple of rooms remain intact. There are plenty of information signs throughout the castle which are supplemented by a guide given to you. It was well worth the £6 entry fee I paid. One thing to be aware of is that some of the steps are quite steep.

We had a fabulous visit to this historic building yesterday. It has a fascinating past which was brought alive through the efforts of our lovely lady guide, Sian. All of the staff there are volunteers and do an amazing job of keeping history alive. I would thoroughly recommend to all lovers of history and all those who appreciate a wonderful view!

You can explore this castle in an hour or less. It is pretty small but lots of up and down to see different parts of the castle. Great view of the town and Mumbles from up top. Small gift shop and no washrooms on site (but not too far away at the bottom of the field). The castle is in Swansea in the Mumbles area.

Student tickets were reasonably priced and the visit was definitely worth it. A little booklet was given to me with short descriptions of each point of interest in the castle, which was just the right amount of information for me as I often find audio guides and exhibit boards quite overwhelming. There was also a little room where a short video played about the castle's history and its recent developments. I particularly loved the panorama view of Mumbles from the highest point of the castle - if only I had gone on a sunny day! The amazing volunteers were really the cherry on top to this already great experience. Thank you so much John, Sam, Paul, and Terryl for the lovely chat at the reception centre! John was also particularly helpful when I did not know how to navigate to a part of the castle and led me there himself.

The castle is well kept and striking from the outside with information boards. Staff were friendly and knowledgable and a film was playing to give a brief history of the place. We then walked around on our own, the glass floor in the chapel area was interesting but I am not great with heights! Views from the battlements over Mumbles and Swansea Bay make it well worth the climb to the top. We also enjoyed the smaller passages and celler areas, they are well lit too.

Happened upon the castle by accident. We were jut walking the streets and it's off the high street. We didn't go in as we didn't have the time but there's a history board outside with brief history, so we could read about it. More info is inside. Like most castles, it's a steep climb but the views are worth it.
