This was my #1 must see attraction for PEI and it did not disappoint!! Prices were fair and the whole family enjoyed the experience. We didn't have a tour guide, but we did the introduction to the property offered by the staff, and there were plenty of staff members around to ask questions if required. Had so much fun learning about the author of Anne of Green Gables, and where she got her influence from. I can see why she loved the Island and why here heart was always there.

My first stop on PEI for Anne of Green Gables. A beautiful setting with trees and flowers. It’s too bad it was pouring rain when I visited because I imagine on a clear sunny day the property is stunning. There’s a 2-story house belonging to Lucy’s family members which she visited many times throughout her life. Admission was $7 or $9 per person. Once you pay one of the staff provides an overview of the house and property. You can walk through the house at your own pace. There are some 1st edition books to see. There’s a small gift shop on the first floor and a much larger gift store in an adjacent building. Restroom available in the larger gift shop.

If you are a devotee of these books, I heartily recommend you visit this museum. The museum itself tells the author’s life story, conveying well her deep inner drive to be a writer. Step by step, her unfolds before you. Then, head into the actual home that serviced as the inspiration for Green Gables. Built in 1831, you get a sense of what her life was like growing up and how it influenced this stories she told. If you have a bit of extra time, be sure to hike the gentle Lover’s Leap path that meanders into the woods along a brook and amongst the trees and flowers that inspired her. It’s only about 3/4 of a mile.

I greatly enjoyed my visit to the Anne of Green Gables Museum in Park Corner. It is a beautiful period farmhouse that Montgomery loved and served as the inspiration for Silver Bush. They have quite a few interesting Montgomery "artefacts" that fans will enjoy. After they built the interpretative centre at Green Gables it lost a lot of its sense of harmony with nature as well as the sense of going back in time; the museum still has that stepping into the past feel and demonstrates Maud's celebration of human dwellings being in harmony with nature.

We started our tour of the museum with an official summary of the historic site by a member of the Campbell family. The home is filled with historic artifacts. Our family enjoyed it and we had plenty of conversation afterwards. We made our way to the gift shop where we picked up personally signed copy of Anne of Green Gables and then walked the grounds to visit the horses, the paths, and Tilly the Cat! A great morning and worth the stop!

It was a cute end to our tour of “Anne of Green Gables”. We got the Anne of Green Gables Package, which included The Birth Place of Lucy, her Cavendish Home, the Heritage Site and the Museum. It also included a play. I don’t think I would have paid for all the spots on the tour independently. I probably would have picked only a couple!

The owner of this museum Pam was wonderful in helping me find transportation when I found out the Kari app doesn’t send drivers to the rural areas. She made sure I was well taken care of and went way above and beyond for a museum. She knows a lot about the rural part of that island.

Huge Anne of Green Gables fan here, all the way from Australia, who dreamed of this visit for over 36 years. The museum sight was bursting with tacky souvenirs, and the host was difficult to understand with English as her second language. Half the rooms were closed off for offices and the house was over loaded with books. The arrival of two massive tour busses killed what little vibe it gave. Almost 100 people tried to cram inside the tiny house blocking the exit. As soon as they arrived, the staff gave 100% of their attention to them and forgot about the rest of us. Super disappointed - go to Ontario for a far better experience, you know, where the movie was actually filmed.
