Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

Beautiful garden, for sure. But this was so crowded in a Sunday at 11 am that you could barely find a spot to stand and admire the view without someone’s Insta-ready phone being stuck in you face. Full of crowd-control minders who were friendly but firm enforcing a strict one-way route. We had the combination ticket so also saw the Berber Museum which is interesting but small and English signs are limited to the introduction only so unless you speak French you’ll just be looking at loads of Berber artefacts without understanding any more about their use or context. YSL museum building is impressive and less crowded - despite the main exhibition being closed the full price was charged. The whole thing feels like a money making machine in the first instance. Quite a few jobs for locals is probably the best thing about it.

Visiting Marrakech you could not miss the Majorelle Gardens. After booking entry time, from 10.30 we were able to appreciate the plants of the garden and the pavilion with Berber culture museum: all taken care of by the numerous staff present. Many views and views to appreciate the plants present and beautiful colors of the pots in contrast with the green of the plants and the blue of the museum pavilion. Despite the August heat, the garden offered coolness with large portions of shade and some resting places. To avoid, in my humble opinion, the long queue to take photos of the water lily pond because it is better to spend more time and photographic shots along the avenues of the succulents area and in front of the blue pavilion of the museum. Considering the proximity, it is also worth visiting the Yves Saint Laurent Museum to appreciate some high fashion works.

We read the reviews prior to our trip and the earliest ticket we could get was 9.30am. This was booked a few days beforehand. You have a maximum 30 minutes grace time, so don’t be late! It was simple to get a taxi from our hotel to the gardens and you are dropped at the end of the street and walk 100 meters or so to the entrance. I can’t see any need to have a guide. The reason there is no traffic down this street becomes apparent when later you see the queues in both directions for guests waiting to enter. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and the cactus were truly amazing. However, the gardens were not anywhere near as big as l had expected and l read that you could easily spend half a day here. We visited the gardens, both museums, gift shops, had coffee and cake and were done in 2 hours. The most difficult and disappointing thing is the crowds. You can barely take a photograph without someone in it or else you are walking or waiting to avoid stepping into someone else’s shot. Long queues form to take a photograph of the long narrow lake and the guards keep you walking to stop the walk ways becoming blocked. I can only imagine that the later you go, you must just be in a shuffling convoy of people around the gardens and paths. Still worth a visit if you can go early!!

The gardens are nice and we can see unusual plants and trees, very beautiful and huge. However, I find it a little expensive for what it is. The famous "blue structure" that is the business card of this garden is little or almost nothing visible from the front. Get ready for the photo rows... There are countless safeguards to the logo of the garden that do not allow us to visit at will, we have to follow a route and if we want to go to a place that is a 1m from us, we have to go to take a tour of the whole garden... Ridiculous! It's a garden and we're paying (good) to see it. The garden museum (which is not the same as YSL) is very interesting but it is a shame to be all in French! I think it's awful we pay to only understand what we're seeing if we speak French. It is mandatory to buy online and book a schedule. Attention that on Wednesdays the YSL museum is closed, so if you want to visit all together be aware of this. It is still a positive experience, but it is nothing amazing. The price should be much lower.

Loved the gardens and the striking blue colour throughout. Some interesting planting and peaceful water features. Certainly worth a visit… But… The entrance fee is steep for what you get- a controlled, ordered walk around the path. The Pierre Berge Museum of Berger Art isn’t up to much, and I was told there was no photography inside, only to come home and find YouTube videos of people merrily videoing the interiors. I guess my face didn’t fit. The garden was too full of Instagram and Tik-Tok ‘influencers’ with their own photographers, taking an age over posing for photos and videos. It’s barmy, and if they want to do that then the garden needs to allow them to book it privately, not get in the way of everyone else and act as though they own the place. So, go, book online and choose your time, but just be wary of your groups, influencers and the fact that whilst lovely, you might not think it’s worth what you pay to get in.

Visiting Jardin Majorelle is truly a must when in Marrakech. This stunning garden, designed by the French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s, is a vibrant oasis filled with exotic plants, vibrant blue structures, and peaceful pathways. The colors are breathtaking, especially the iconic cobalt blue that adorns many of the buildings. The tranquility of the garden offers a perfect escape from the bustling city. As you wander through, you'll discover a rich collection of flora, including cacti, palm trees, and various other species that create a serene atmosphere. The sound of water features adds to the calming ambiance, making it an ideal spot for reflection or a leisurely stroll. The museum of Berber culture located within the garden is also worth a visit. It provides fascinating insights into Morocco’s rich heritage and art. Overall, Jardin Majorelle is a beautifully curated space that showcases both nature and art. It’s a perfect blend of relaxation and cultural enrichment. I highly recommend setting aside a few hours to immerse yourself in this enchanting paradise

The garden is lush, we were lucky enough to also be able to visit the 'private' part (access to which is impossible to predict because it is apparently open randomly). The Berber museum located in the gardens is very interesting. We took combined tickets to also visit the Yves St Laurent museum, which is also worth the detour. Remember to reserve your tickets in advance (we reserved Friday for the Saturday visit) on the Majorelle Gardens website, otherwise you will wait in line for a long time and risk not even being able to enter if the crowds are too high!

A wonder ! I understand why Yves Saint Laurent found so much inspiration there. This garden is timeless, with calm and an impressive feeling of resourcefulness. This blue is extraordinary and deserves to be seen. I strongly advise booking tickets online before going, there are girls waiting for entries every 30 minutes. The museum and the house to visit don't add much to my taste, but I'm not a fan of haute couture, some might find it more interesting. The big downside is all these pseudo influencers who take a lot of time to take “Instagrammable” photos without really respecting the place. Be careful with the shop which only accepts payments by credit card and if you want to bring back paint from the garden this is put in the hold when returning by plane as far as we are concerned. It’s truly a place to visit at least once in your life.

The garden is small and rather bland, mostly cacti with scattered things painted blue. (I much prefer the cactus gardens of Palm Desert and Phoenix.) It was also crowded, with many people lined up to pose for pictures in front of a couple of genuinely pretty settings. The only thing that redeemed the visit was the onsite (additional fee) Berber Museum, which has an excellent collection though no signage in English.

Purchased a combined ticket, definitely book in advance as the queues are ridiculous. The gardens are pretty if you like cacti, pretty colours, maybe it’s better when the weather is better? Was quite busy inside and you’re told which was to go round by what felt like security guards… unless you’re massively into fashion don’t bother with the YSL museum, not allowed to take photos and just a dark hallway with approx 30 pieces to look at.

The riad-museum Le Jardin Secret is one of the largest and most ancient palaces of the medina of Marrakech. It is a place that has kept ancient structures intact that are of an extraordinary cultural value, linked to the art of gardens, architecture and Arab hydraulics. Popularly known as Riad Loukrissi, it has been the sumptuous residence of the Qaid U-Bihi who was the head of the Haha tribe. The riad rises up in the Mouassine quarter (on the main thoroughfare and but a few steps away from the Mouassine fountain and Mouassine Mosque), and comprises two large gardens and one of the highest towers of the medina. The museum provides you with a wealth of historical information about Marrakech's architecture, water, and gardens. You will also find a boutique, a bookshop and two cafes inside Le Jardin Secret. The cafes offer you up fresh, homemade products that you can eat in lush and peaceful settings.
