We came here on an overcast but warm morning with only a 50% chance of rain. On arrival this was 100% and it was raining. Not to fret, the Zoo gift shop has a variety of umbrellas and ponchos for sale if like us, you did not bring any. Firstly, the landscaping is lovely & so is the location. It is a large zoo requiring a lot of walking but with fabulous natural backdrops. There is also a tram service on a loop for when you get tired of walking. The animals are in close to natural habitat enclosures. Sadly being a rainy day the very smart animals all were trying to stay out of the rain and not readily visible. We still managed to see some before admitting defeat to the weather and deciding to leave. I think this zoo would be a fantastic day trip on a clear day when you can walk leisurely and admire all the beautiful wild life and the natural settings. Today, though enjoyable we left dampened so will give it 4 out of 5. Please note: bring anti mosquito spray or you will get eaten, of course if you forget don’t worry, like the umbrellas the Zoo gift shop sells those too.

Singapore zoo was well maintained and the majority of the enclosures were in quite good to great condition. However, some of the enclosures were shut for maintenance. I was surprised there was only one lion in the lion enclosure and one tiger in the tiger enclosure. The baboon enclosure was the most lively enclosure with over than 40 baboons varying in ages. We could have easily spent 30 minutes at the baboon enclosure. The Orangutan enclosure was quite an experience as you can see the orangutans swinging and hanging from the branches above you. To cover the whole zoo, you will need between 4 to 5 hours. It will be good to allow 6 to 7 hours if you want to watch all the shows. Definatley recommend Singapore zoo for all ages.

I have only visited Kolmården in adulthood except Singapore Zoo. But Singapore Zoo was really great! We bought admission tickets on site and it was smooth. Cost us 770 SEK for two adults. There was an app to download where you could see a map of the entire zoo to easily find where you wanted, it even had a built-in GPS so it was incredibly easy to navigate. It was also clear that those who worked there cared about the animals and there were several signs informing about threats to certain animal species and how to donate and contribute to help the animals in the wild. The food inside the Singapore Zoo was as expensive as you would expect. We each paid 335 SEK for a lunch. You could pay to feed the elephants, turtles, rhinos or zebras. However, this was fully booked on site and then there were not even many visitors the day we were there. So if you want to feed the animals order it online! However, you could get very close and watch as other visitors fed the animals. There were also two "shows" at an amphitheater. One was a sea lion in the center and the other was everything from birds, monkeys to small mammals. Again here it was clear that they had taught the animals with "carrot" rather than "stick."

We enjoyed the half-day we spent at the zoo, and certainly could have spent longer here, but we'd already done a lot of walking and needed to rest our legs! On that front, the free shuttles, which do a loop around the zoo, are much appreciated. There's a huge variety of animals to see. The walk-in butterfly and wildlife enclosure was the absolute highlight for us. Some of the exhibits are looking a little run-down, and most of the eateries were closed when we were there (a quiet Monday afternoon), but generally we had a lovely time. Given the zoo is in the north of the island and not connected to the city by metro, we opted to get a Grab ride there and back to avoid the kerfuffle of navigating the public transport options. This added a fair bit to the cost, but was very convenient.

Excellent attraction deserving of a full dedicated day of time. Try to go early before it gets too hot and plan to take the team to get from exhibit to exhibit to conserve energy especially with young kids. Also, definitely sign up for the feeding of the animals which is an extra charge. The best part is that every dollar you spend here goes towards supporting the important conservation work that the zoo is doing throughout Southeast Asia. Definitely a must see when in Singapore.

Did the 2 park package, zoo and night safari. The zoo was good & 2-3 hours was just about enough to see it all however allow 4 hours with plenty rests especially if hot & humid. Grounds are well kept, easy to navigate & animal enclosures are spacious with effort to make it as natural as a zoo can do. Night safari was brilliant & by far the highlight of the visit. Went to the show which was quite good & went on the tram ride with narration around the park. Saw quite a few of the animals and no sign in some enclosures which is fine. 100% recommend walking through the various sections at own pace, take your time & be patient because the nocturnal animals are very active so we saw lots of creatures we’ve heard of but never seen as well as some we’ve never knew.

Reservations are required, but first, take photos with the animals that appear in half-hour shifts while eating at the buffet restaurant. You can also experience feeding elephants, zebras and giraffes. (Only zebras are dangerous, so children are not allowed alone.) You can feel a sense of space and dynamism not found in zoos in Japan, and you can feel moving lions, monkeys and orangutans as they are naturally. There is also a free tour bus, so it is comfortable to spread out.

Singapore Zoo is a must visit every time we are in Singapore. Although over the years there have been many changes to the park, and there is currently heavy building works, it still is a brilliant day out for us all. The zoo is very well laid out with a large range of sections dedicated to animals from different habitats and there are map boards and finger posts to direct you to the different zones so no difficulty in navigating your way around. The zoo also provides a regular tram service around the park which is great when little ones have tired legs or you need to get to a zone quickly. There is a programme of talks by very passionate workers which adds a little schedule to your trip too. However, if you just want to set your own pace there are very informative information boards about the animals you are viewing too. There are additional opportunities to feed a range of animals (set times) for an additional $8 (at time of writing) per basket which can be great for memory making and photographs too. However, these need to be pre-booked online. A visit to Singapore Zoo is a whole day out and although the ticket enables you to visit other sections of the park, if this is your first or second visit it is unlikely you will have time to visit these. Tips: Arrive early. Don't forget your camera. Bring a refillable water bottle (ensure it is not frosted or metal otherwise the machine struggles to recognise the bottle and fill it. Wear comfortable shoes - there is a lot of walking! If coming in a standard taxi, pre-book the return to avoid the very long taxi queue or very expensive luxury private cabs.

I went on a Saturday, and was worried it would be crowded, but it wasn't too bad. Hard to have a bad day wandering about, spotting and photographing some the world's incredibly diverse wildlife. Just as well, given the admission fee isn't cheap. However, like all zoos, it's a bit of a lottery, so, while the malaysian tigers were highly visible and active, the lions were just a blur in the distance. Perhaps the highlight was the impressive collection of monkeys the zoo has, from all over the world. Also, I have long wanted to see a komodo dragon, so was able to tick that off. A previous reviewer has noted that the elephants enclosure was small and depressing, and I would have to agree with this. The giraffe enclosure also left something to be desired. But these were exceptions. As far as I could tell most of the animals looked healthy and well looked after. As some other reviewers have written, it's best to arrive early to beat the heat, and crowds. Although, given that this is Singapore, it's still going to be fairly warm whatever time you get there. I walked everywhere, and was thus able to avoid the queue for the free trams on offer. And I didn't find the zoo too spread out, or the walking too difficult for this to be a problem. If you are not very fit of mobile, or have young children, than obviously the trams are the way to go, but otherwise I would suggest giving walking a shot.

Loved this little zoo. A great selection of animals from all over the world. The orangutan exhibit is great, climbing on trees and vines right above your head. The free little tram that runs around the zoo is great, hop on and off at any of the scheduled stops and explore the exhibits close by. Lots of restaurants as well as vending machines available for meals, snacks and refreshments. Had a great afternoon exploring and viewing the animals. We only did the zoo but there is also a River Wonders park, a Birds of Paradise park and a Night Safari park. We only paid the zoo entrance but there are many add-ons if you want to feed animals, do a breakfast, etc.
