- BlueDreams13Ayrshire, United Kingdom166 contributionsDon't really understand the reviews on here. We got the bus from Benalmadena €1.70 each to Fuegirola Bus Station and got to the zoo just over a 5 mins walk later, no more than 10. The entrance is on the bottom of a street but marked on signs on approach. The cost was about €29 per adult, no more than any zoo in UK including Edinburgh which is a mud slide and often weather permitting due to the slopes. The landscaping of the zoo itself is beautiful, the animals seem to be well taken care of with their needs taken into account when designing their enclosures. Our favourites were the silverback gorillas, the baby actually made his way over to see our son which was amazing, the baby orangutan and the tigers. AwThe beautiful aquarium was a welcome break from the heat for our 18 month old, fully air conditioned and plenty to take our time to look at. We paid €25 for two roast chicken baguettes, a waffle with fruit, a cola and a small pint, again reasonable. Gift shop is expensive as they all are at these types of attractions, we spent €27.50 on two professional photos taken on arrival as the close up of our little one was so good and a small soft toy, we were on holiday and budgeted for these costs. We spent 3 hours in total and thoroughly enjoyed our day trip, would definitely return in future where he could experience it again.Thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We are delighted that you had a good experience at Bioparc. For us, visitor satisfaction is the best reward for our work. - TheMetUnleashed1 contributionA fantastic experience for the kids and adults, we went on a bank holiday and it was quiet and lots of room to move around the park and see the animals, it had good viewing platforms to see the animals clearly. We went during the evening and it was nice to see the sunset and when it became night the animals came awake which made the experience more fun. At night it was ok but I wish there were more lights and it was open an hour longer to have more time to see the animals at night. The new area was great as it had water animals instead of wild animals. It looked modern and was fun to see but I would spend a long time there if there was more to do. And it felt a little bit unfinished. I would say the park needs more interactive stuff to do and it needs screens with videos and fact files. It could also do with some higher up platforms that overlook the park. The food was ok the portion sizes were normal size but were a bit more on the expensive side. The play park was ok but a little small but did the job. The gift shop on exit was good it had everything you needed and some great toys but was on the very expensive side. Also outside needs a dropoff area and the entrance needs a cool big sign!Thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We are delighted that you had a good experience at Bioparc. For us, visitor satisfaction is the best reward for our work. - Rachel bCastries, France11 contributionsSmall but very nice zoo in the heart of town. A real lung of greenery. Very clean and recent. A big crush on the gorillas. Really a great day (we stayed there 5 hours). Two drawbacks, however. First, the price: 28.50 adults and 21 children are still very expensive. And the second, we experienced a somewhat improbable scene. We brought sandwiches. We were asked to leave them at the front desk. Which we did of course without hesitation, thinking that food was forbidden in the zoo, which we can understand. But it was our surprise when we found that chips, sweets, cakes and other food, were accepted inside. There are even candy dispensers and chips! So a little surprised... We take our walk and around 1:00 pm (we arrived at noon), we decide to go eat our sandwiches. We are forced to leave the park completely and be told that we can return afterwards. So we come out. We eat our sandwiches on a public bench.... And we represent ourselves with our tickets to continue our walk. And there, the guard makes us understand that every exit is final and that we cannot return. Forced to negotiate and explain that we were told we could come back and we were forced out, otherwise we would not have done it. Anyway, in the end, we got home. But I admit that it is quite frustrating to go out to eat sandwiches, when everyone eats everything in the park.... Especially when they tell us we can't come back. Fortunately the staff in the park is adorable and the park itself really beautiful, because the entrance makes you want to turn around. So beautiful experience in the end, despite the initial bitterness.Gracias por tu valoración y comentarios. Nos alegramos de que te haya gustado Bioparc. Seguiremos trabajando y mejorando para que en tu próxima visita, la experiencia sea de 5 estrellas. - xxluvleaxxChester, United Kingdom629 contributionsWe visited this zoo on the last day of our holiday 31st March and it was pouring with rain. We enjoyed the whole zoo, excellent variety of animals not the usual ones as in other zoos. It's not huge but we still spent 4 hours here including a 30 min pizza stop in the restaurant. I can't comment on what its like in the height of season and busy, but we thought it was a great day out and still got to see everything except the orangutans and komodo dragon. We had a lemur walk through and a close up look at other animals which they explained was not the usual show but the weather prevented this. The staff we spoke to were knowledgeable and spoke excellent English (Thank you-Gracias) Will recommend this zoo based on our experience to anyone who is in the area.Thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We are delighted that you had a good experience at Bioparc. For us, visitor satisfaction is the best reward for our work. The jungle is spectacular on a rainy day! Although we hope that if you come back in the future, you will have a sunny day to see the jungle in a different way. - TopperOwenSwansea, United Kingdom31 contributionsWe stayed here for around 4 hours and really enjoyed our time here! The animals were all very interesting. There were guided tours around the zoo at different times but they were very crowded with lots of people. The zoo is very large with lots to do and see. There are food places around which serve things like fast food. We had burgers, a pizza and chips however the chips were cold. There is a gift shop at the end but the things in there are quite expensive. There was information about the animals next to their enclosure so this place does help you learn things. If you like going out and doing different things then we would recommend getting the ticket that you can use for Bioparc and the Aquamijas waterpark which is what we did.Thank you for your review and comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed Bioparc. We will continue to work and improve so that your next visit will be a 5 star experience. - Nomad591487224583 contributionsAttracted by the reviews, we decided to visit this park with our children. Upon arrival endless queue, only one cashier open despite having already purchased tickets online. At the entrance they seized the.food we had brought, saying they fear we give it to animals. Are you kidding me? If we bring food, maybe we have food problems or just don't want to be forced to spend at your restaurant. Nothing to do, food seized. The park is nice for the settings but the animals are few and in small spaces. There are no shows, just a few moments of explanation. So you can't eat except in the restaurant area where you obviously spend more money. Basically 100 euros for admission and another 50 for eating. - Liz D4 contributionsThis is by far the best zoo I have ever been to. As a rule I am not a great fan of zoos and find it disturbing to see an animal in confinement. But this zoo was truly exceptional. The animals were well cared for and they were in empathetic surroundings. Their cages were magnificent and all the animals looked content and well cared for. The zoo attendants were knowledgeable and kind. We spent several hours here and will definitely be back From the outside the zoo appeared quite small and town centred. This is deceptive. Inside it is spacious and beautiful. It appears expensive. The carrefour supermarket was offering 20 percent vouchers- but they expired the end of July. We booked through a uk website and got 20 percent off, so shop around. We had to book in advance but only by 2 days. One thing we missed was the show which is only on at 2pm and 10 pm. I know that this would be worth seeing, but the children didn’t want to hang around. The food was reasonably priced. The portions are v large - we got nuggets and chips and mac cheese and burger and chips to share between 5 and there was plenty to go round. All in all this is a must see. I have children ranging between 12-17 and all of us loved it. To find an activity that everyone enjoys is a rarity! Parking is a problem- do not park in the carpark next to the zoo. The underground car park is v v steep and the slope is almost vertical. The spaces are small and tight. We found a newer carpark opposite the zoo which a little better, although still with a sharp ramp gradient going down. Many parts of this zoo appear v new - the aquariums are magnificent- but not well stocked as I suspect they are introducing the new fish slowly and the otter enclosure looks as if it has only recently been finished. No otters in sight as yet. We will definitely be back - 100% to see how the new otters have settled in. They will be v lucky to have such a wonderful enclosure with such attentive staff. - Samarmo36 contributionsAmazing zoo, loads packed in for its size. Really well kept and clean. A lot more than we expected it to have. It was really quiet when we went on a Thursday midday. The online price isn’t cheaper like it says unfortunately but I know all money supports the zoo so not terribly bothered. Really easy to get to alsoThank you very much for your feedback and comments! - Laura OAberdeenshire, United Kingdom12 contributionsDon’t be put off by bad reviews!! Beautiful zoo with plenty of animals to see and well worth the ticket price for 3 hours. Set out really well, clean and maintained well. We took the ferry ride from Benalmadena which made the day even better. The zoo is only 10/15 min walk from the beachside so you can save on taxi fares. Never experienced been so close to monkeys and the variety of species was fab. The orangutans made our day!Thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We are delighted that you had a good experience at Bioparc. - Martin D36 contributionsGood for the family, it's not that big so definitely not an all day thing. We managed to see everything within about an hour. Some decent animals there, tigers, chimps, crocs etc. Two places to eat and drink on site but the drinks are in cups so no good for taking around with you. There are vending machines dotted around with drinks and snacks. They take a photo of you when you walk in and to be fair the quality of the prints are really good, you get to choose to buy the photos in the gift shop on the way out. There is parking. All in all not a bad experience but probably not worth the money we paid. Family of 5 we paid £110 and it lasted for just over an hour.Thank you for your visit and for sharing your opinion. We are sorry to hear that your experience at Bioparc was not a good one. We thank you for your comment, which will help us to improve.Written November 15, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 27, 2024
