This was a cool spot. I had heard bad things about this being a rough area but it was okay. I would recommend going early in the morning before it gets too busy. There was a very nice souvenir shop that we liked and was reasonably priced. It was called LaLa Land. We ate at Mel's diner, which was a cool spot and we went to the Funko Pop store which I highly recommend - it was a great spot!!! But it was a far walk down, about 20 minutes. The Chinese theatre has all of the cool handprints and signatures of famous people on the ground. Lots of options for tours from here although we didn't do any.

I read an article on LA and in summary the guy wrote and I quote “ the only thing your find out about LA is that when you come away, your realise just how glad you are, that you don’t live there’ and I kinda have to agree. It’s so made up of those that have and those that have not” The walk of fame is really good fun and if you do walk it, it will take you about 3-4 hours as you keep stopping and pointing out stars that you recognise and stop to take pictures. Like everywhere else in an American tourist trap you will In counter countless people trying to sell you stuff. A stiff “ no thank-you” usually works but some still do persists 😞 My advice is to stay in the tourist areas don’t venture any further as you will see and experience a different side of LA your probably not goons like. Without sounding disrespectful we were sat in Macdonalds the place was filled with homeless people many with severe mental health problems. One guy was sat with his hands down his pants it look like he was…well you know what I mean. Most people moved away from him and so did we, only to be looking out the window at some bare footed guy going through the trash can Next to the Hollywood stars on the street. We took the hop on hop of bus which was pretty average and decided to get off a couple of stops before the end, big mistake once again found ourselves in what I would describe as “bandit country”. Not that enjoyable overall but stay on the right paths!

We parked in the car park on Wilcox Avenue, just off Hollywood Boulevard, which cost $20 for 12 hours. The walk back up to Hollywood Boulevard took about 5 minutes, and from there it was a 15-minute stroll down to the Chinese Theatre. You start seeing stars on the Walk of Fame as soon as you step onto the boulevard. However, I have to say the area is a bit on the rougher side. As you get closer to the theatre, it becomes increasingly busy, dirty, and messy, with a noticeable presence of homeless people and street merchants. Unfortunately, it’s not an experience we’d choose to revisit.

Definitely nothing like I expected, the area overall is dirty and there are many homeless people about. However, the main thing to be aware of is the street scammers, particularly the guys who pretend to be rappers, hand out fake CD’s and then take photos with you and force you to make a ‘donation’ to support their fake music. We ended up being fooled, coming from the other side of the world, and paid them $30. Another concerning part of our trip was when we were catching the bus into Hollywood and a homeless man ran onto the road and stood in front of the bus even though the light had turned green. 911 had to be called. These are the things that will happen, but I took it as an eye-opening experience to see the lives of these people and get a taste of a lifestyle different to mine. I don’t personally think it’s a bad experience, it might take a bit to get used to it but overall I’m glad I got to see it and get a taste of the real LA. However, if you are on a short time-span or are looking for a glamorous tourist attraction then this is not the place for you. Wouldn’t go back again but it was interesting to spend a couple of days here.

Tat shops, bars, restaurants.. Hollywood Walk of Fame is not glamorous - there are 100s of stars, some broken, damaged and dirty.....but if that's what you expect, then you're not disappointed. Start at the silver statues and just wander, catching stars from TV, film, radio etc....old, new, never heard of, groups, directors. Have a Wahlberg burger ( surprisingly really good burgers) and just take in the madness of the traffic, the punters in fancy dress charging you a few dollars for a photo, the Chinese Theatre. Just don't get scammed. I loved it, ot was so so tacky.

I m usually pretty upbeat but this was quite disappointing. The streets are not cleaned and some of the stars are pretty dirty. Relying on the rain isn't working. The Walk of Fame becomes less and less appealing the further you go up Hollywood Boulevard and although we wanted to see Capitol Records and the Beatles Stars we weren't sure how safe the area actually was. Lots of homeless and mentally ill people wandering about. However we were lucky enough to see a Star being unveiled for Lang Lang and so that was very special. I guess that's a fairly rare event however. The Chinese Theatre with the signatures and hand/footprints is worth taking time to explore.

Our hotel being on Hollywood Boulevard, we wandered the neighborhood to find the stars of our favorite artists. It's not about stars on a single boulevard as I thought, but about several streets. The disappointment comes from the fact that the area is dirty and very poorly maintained, it's a real shame. Furthermore, we saw a lot of homeless people who seemed to be in an extremely precarious state, lying on the ground. This is very shocking for a city like Los Angeles. Lots of people, tourists.

The Walk of Fame is a mist see. For the cost of parking, you can literally walk down memory lane. The area is grittier than expected in some places, but this actually adds to the charm of the walK. There are numerous restaurant choices and things to do along the walk. I recomm nd using one of the paid lots for parking.

So this is Hollywood Bl and the walk of fame? The smell of urine is so strong all the time that it was hard to ignore. Watch out for restaurants outside the chains, we ordered 2 meals with drink that cost 32$ in total and in the end we were charged 45! They also wanted to keep our CBs because it was the “policy” of the house. It leaves a bitter taste in addition to the smell... As for the stars, they are stained by dirt and you have to slalome between tourists and cracked... Ok it’s to do but you really need to maintain the place!

The walking area is quite huge, so if you want to see it all the stars, prepare for it mentally. As the older actors won't ring a bell, I assume, similarly as it was in my case, I recommend to find the place with the newest stars. All the other ones are just graveyards of the ones that were once actual. The streets are pretty dirty, with a lot of homeless people and people doing their business on the streets. Also the buildings are not maintained, giving the area shady look. I recommend to go for a walk early in the morning, e.g. before 9 AM, as there are not that many people there. Parking is possible on he streets and at the various parking houses at or around the streets with the stars. No ticket to see the stars needed.
