Beringer is among the most senior winery operations in Napa Valley. The grounds and listening to the history of the operation should be experienced by all visitors to the valley. To hear the history, you need to either do a tour or an elevated tasting, the last of which was our experience. While Beringer makes some decent lower cost wines that can often be found at big box stores in your area, the also make some excellent reserves only available directly from the winery either in person or by online purchase. Setting was gorgeous and it was an unrushed experience. So why not 5*s then? Our guide, while personable, seemed a bit dismissive of listening to some our other experiences with wine from other parts of the world. Not to the point of making the visit unpleasant, just felt slightly awkward occasionally. Visit, spend some time and enjoy the area. It is worth your time to go!

This place is a must see on anyone’s Napa list. The grounds are spectacular and historic. Take one their informative tours and learn more. Sip wines inside one of the tasting areas and ask for the off menu vintages, they always seem to have something special. Book ahead of time for the best options, especially during the busy seasons.

...I'd recommend not getting the sip & tour package. It's only $20 per person. You can walk around with a glass of wine, but there's really not too much to see. You are allowed in the Rhine House, but only on the first level, where there really isn't much to see. The overall place is beautiful.
