This tour begins at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Depot. Tour distance is about 5 blocks. Go inside a real haunted underground location!

    What a treat to be able to tour downtown Durango and learn more about its history! I have lived in this area for a long time, but I found myself looking with new eyes at buildings I have seen many times and never noticed before. Laine's expertise and research was evident, and the supporting photo book she provided during the tour added to the experience. While I, myself, didn't see any ghosts on the tour, I certainly got my fill of spooky stories, and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Durango's more macabre history.

    Delightful, informative, fun, interesting! We live here part time and highly recommend this to locals and tourists. Our guide, Kim, was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and clearly enjoys giving the tour and interacting with people This is definitely a MUST DO and we plan on going again.

    This was the second year in a row that I have done the Hauntings and History tour with Horsefly History tours. Last year I went with my daughter, grandson and best friend, and had a fabulous time. Based on my description of the evening, all the ladies I work with decided this was a must do, and our husbands decided to join in. This tour will interest all ages, believers in the paranormal, and skeptic's alike. If nothing else, you will get an idea of what Durango was like during its wild and wooly past. If you’re lucky, you’ll have a visitor from the past whose time on earth isn’t quite done. If you’re interested in history, the paranormal, or just need to fill an evening, check out Laine, and Horsefly History Tours, you won’t be disappointed!! See you next year for your BOOze and Bites tour!!

    This was my second time to take this tour. This time it was with a large group of friends. It was so much fun to hear about the history of Durango. I love walking down the streets and learning about both old and recent ghost occurances. We were outside of one establishment listening to stories about the current owner and her experiences when she walked out, saw us, and gave us a friendly bow before walking away with her husband. What a treat! The tunnel is the best part, especially this year because they share new photographic evidence that will make your goosebumps get goosebumps!

    My friends and I took the “Quick & Dirty” tour with Laney and it was great. I found myself walking around downtown with my husband (who wasn’t able to go on the tour) later that day and the next, explaining all the cool facts and locations we had learned on our tour. Really a worthwhile and fun way to learn a bit about Durango . . . And for a great price!

    This was a short walk full of amazing, interesting stories. Laine, our guide, obviously loves history and especially the “ Wild West” which Durango truly was. We learned history of the miners, the train, the Utes, the brothels, the Strater, and so much more, told in an enthusiastic, charming manner.

    What a fantastic tour! We've been on many, many ghost tours around the country including famously haunted places such as Gettysburg, St Augustine, and The Stanley and our Durango tour was by far the most researched and balanced mixture of history and tales. It's clear that Laine has done her research and our favorite part was the book that is handed out at the beginning of the tour. We were able to compare old pictures to what is standing today and that just enhanced everything we were seeing. You have to give the book back (understandable) but I would have probably paid for it, if that were an option. I will 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Durango area. Thank you!

    THE BEST!! We have been on several of these type of tours in many different states, this one by far was top notch! John our guide was so incredibly knowledgeable, personable and had a great sense of humor! Would highly reccomend this tour, you won't be disappointed!

    We are locals and were delighted to find out new facts about the town we have lived in for so long. John was a fun and informative guide, who shared history as well as lore; and we finally got to go in one of the tunnels under our town! We all enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.

    The tour we went on, Hauntings and History, was great. Not only did we learn about the para-normal side of Durango, Colorado, but learned a lot about the history of this fascinating town. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was in a fairly large group (16 of us), and we were well-taken care of and treated to a terrific evening. I can't wait to return again next year for another tour with Horsefly History and Ghost Tours.
