The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is a leader in collecting, showing, and interpreting art from the 1940s to the present. Situated in the heart of the Cultural District, the creative center of the city, the Modern has been housed since 2002 in an elegant concrete, glass, and steel building designed by the renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. In addition to 53,000 square feet of soaring, light-filled gallery space and landscaped grounds with outdoor sculptures, the museum features a reflecting pond, theater, elegant private event facilities, education center, gift shop, and café, creating a thriving hub for our community and beyond.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, rooted in its mission of lifelong learning and rich collections, is a dynamic institution that actively involves its diverse community through vibrant programs and exhibits that delve into the realms of science and the rich narratives of Texas and the Southwest. Its storied history dates back to 1941 when it was established as the Fort Worth Children's Museum, with the intent of preserving and disseminating knowledge in geology, biology, zoology, history, art, and science. Over the years, it has evolved into a thriving hub of education and exploration, ultimately becoming the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History in 1968. Today, the museum features engaging galleries such as DinoLabs, Innovation Studios, the Children's Museum, Energy Blast, and the Cattle Raiser's Museum, serving almost 300,000 visitors annually and embodying its enduring mission to provide an exceptional learning environment for its community.

One of the finest and most focused collections of Western Art in America, this Fort Worth museum features paintings of the 19th Century American West by Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell and other artists, which were collected by oilman and philanthropist Sid Richardson. Admission is always free.

Today, each of the historic structures, furnished with authentic artifacts, provides a vivid look at life in the nineteenth century North Texas frontier. Each log house displays different aspect of pioneer life. The exhibits include a water-powered gristmill, a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, an herb garden, and several log home settings. Historical interpreters, who are City of Fort Worth staff and volunteers, depict the lifestyle of the people who lived and settled the area in the mid to late 1800s.
