My partner got us tickets as a Christmas gift and I could not be more satisfied with the customer service and exhibit quality. We got snowed in and wouldn't be able to make it to our initial date, but the call to reschedule was easy enough and the person on the other line was very nice! We rescheduled for a week later for 12:00 pm and were told there would be a 1 hour grace period after our appointment time, meaning our appointment would be kept until 1:00pm. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate to answer any questions I had about the animals. One worker in particular, Frank, was amazing and I am so glad we ran into him at multiple exhibits. He was happy to explain in detail all about the animals, and even would give fun facts and showed us a preserved puffin egg! (They've evolved to roll in circles so they don't fall off the rocks!). The beluga whales were so playful and enamored with all the humans, as were the river otters and sea lions! Of course we went to see the TWO whale sharks they have at this aquarium (TWO WHALE SHARKS!!!) and it was absolutely amazing. We happened to be there at feeding time which was a phenomenal experience to watch. The only issues I could have is that the quiet rooms are not as accessible as they could be, and the gift shop was mid. There were some cute sweatshirts, but nothing super unique or special to the Georgia Aquarium. Overall, it was a great experience! I'd recommend bringing headphones for an awesome, more individual experience. I forgot mine but it was still great. If you or your kids need a quiet room, I'd recommend talking with the staff before you need it so you know where it is and how to get in. I would also LOVE to see more unique items in the souvenir shop!! Higher quality plushies, sweatshirts, or even just pressed penny machines would be amazing.

I acquired the ticket through the City Pass which is already a win, due to its advantages and the savings you get with it. It is important to know that you can do it in about two hours, but if you go with children it will probably be longer. With the City Pass application it is super easy to book both the dolphin and sea lion shows and it is super easy. I just had to scan a QR code that the workers have and that's it. The screen shows you the time you want to watch the show. A clean place, incredible animals and super friendly workers. The negative points are that at the sea lion show you have to arrive early to find the best location. There are some columns that don't let you see the show 100%. Another negative point is that in the store there are things that do not have the price or it is confusing to see so I would recommend asking carefully before paying or making sure it is the real price. The positive, the incredible shows and the extraordinary place. It is a place you can go to several times. Recommended!!

We spent about three and a half hours on a Thursday afternoon, and it was pretty cool to see all the aquatic life this aquarium has. We were lucky to catch both the dolphin and sea lion shows, which are included with your general admission (but you need to register for a spot for one of the shows on their website the day that you go). Lots of different animals to see from alligators, sharks, penguins, otters, and of course the big sights like dolphins, sea turtles, beluga whales, and of course the whale sharks. Words can not describe just how big the whale sharks are....you really have to see it with your own eyes, and it's amazing. As you walk around looking at the fish, there's lots of info to read about the species, as well as education on ways to help with conservation with the ocean. I'd say it doesn't have as much conservation info like the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, CA, but it was nice to read up on stuff like the best kind of fish to buy or how sharks get finned for soup. We got our ticket a few days before our visit and it was about $48 per person. There's also a gift shop, food, and other experiences you can buy, but they are all pretty pricey. I'd suggest eating lunch outside the aquarium before going in; there are a lot of options around the Centennial Olympic Park area/downtown.

This aquarium is impressive top to bottom and worth the trip to see. I took my two kids, age 7 and 5. The aquarium is very large. Get their early to avoid lines or go at night around 7-ish as population starts to go down. We went to the dolphin show and paid to have the preferred seats. It is well worth the money to do so! Great views and we did not have to worry about rushing in. Though the aquarium is large and there were a lot of people I never felt it was overly packed but maybe we just got lucky. We did NOT eat at the restaurant in the aquarium based on the many other reviews saying it was overpriced and not very good, best to pack a lunch and find a table to eat. Yes it is expensive but this is a world-class aquarium and the only place outside of Asia you can see honest to goodness whale sharks swimming. My daughters are already talking about wanting to comeback and snorkel with them when they are old enough.

If you love adventure then you should visit the Georgia Aquarium. The experience is for all age groups and you don’t want to be left out. I enjoyed my trip to the aquarium using the city pass (get it on the web). The city pass gives you access to five different locations to visit including the Zoo Atlanta and Coca-cola world. You save money while enjoying the city. I’ve been a fan of aquariums and this was an experience I won’t forget in a hurry. From visiting the friends in the ocean to learning about other sea animals, you need to come here and spend good time exploring. You can’t do this under one hour. You have to plan for at least four hours because there is a lot to see, learn and explore. Add this experience to your list when you built Atlanta.

This was a bucket list for my wife and I. This is the largest aquarium in the western hemisphere and rather young considering the ages of some of the other aquariums we’ve been too. There was so much to see and had at least 5 separate exhibits. The Ocean Odyssey has two whale sharks and two manta rays. It is a once in a lifetime experience. We took 8 hours so that we could see everything but you can certainly do this in half the time. Check out the website to see which entry times are available that day. We also reserved our seats to the dolphin show and the sea lion show. Both put on really awesome shows. The seats are free but we paid $5 for preferred seating for the dolphin show and the seats were dead center. Many people have said that it is crowded and that is certainly true, but as long as you keep moving and avoid the families that stop in the middle of walking paths you can get through pretty quick. We recommend the behind the scenes tour which takes to areas that are often closed to the general public The food was delicious and a bit pricey but our philosophy is that it goes back to the aquarium so we are willing to make that sacrifice.

I really enjoyed myself at the Georgia Aquarium! I like to make a habit of visiting local aquariums when I'm in a new location. I was excited about this solo visit while staying in downtown Atlanta for a work party over the weekend. This was one of the most aesthetically pleasing Aquariums that I've been to. I'm not sure how long it's been in operation, but I suspect it's either fairly new or been recently renovated by how new and clean everything was. The grounds were pristine, the signs were modern and updated, and most importantly, the exhibits were wonderfully clean! It was obvious to me that they take pride in keeping everything updated and clean. There was a large variety of animals to see, and some you could even touch, such as stingrays and sturgeons. I made sure to make my way to each and every exhibit, which took me only a couple of hours. (Keep in mind: I kept a very steady pace, didn't stop to read all informational signs, and I was alone). I was able to see the Sea Lion show upon entering, and it was an action-packed and educational 20-minute experience. I highly recommend it! The other exhibits that I enjoyed the most were: Sharks, Beluga whales, and sea otters. They even had an enormous auditorium-size tank with 2 relatively "small" whale sharks, which surprised me on multiple levels. I mean, whale sharks can get enormous in size, and to have two in captivity is extremely rare. I cannot recall ever seeing these in another aquarium that I've visited. Of course there were many smaller exhibits that were also very cool. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the Georgia Aquarium and I highly recommend it for any one of any age. It's a guarantee highlight!

If you or your kids love aquariums, this is definitely a great experience. General Admission alone gets you access to a lot of great experiences! The way the aquarium is set up allows for easily navigating through all the exhibits without having to go backwards or be stuck in congested areas. All the exhibits enter and exit in separate places (so as long as everyone follows directions) it’s very easy to get through. The animals all looked very well cared for and the tanks were very clean! The Shows are free with the price of admission and the Dolphin Show was amazing. We also watched the Sea Lion show and that was really good too. If you pay extra for any of the Encounters, they are well worth the money. You CANT take your own phones or cameras into the Encounter, but a professional photographer takes pictures of the whole experience for you. This is so you can enjoy the time without having to live life through a lens. The photos are very good quality and are not overpriced. 50-100 digital copies cost between 25-50$

Heard that this aquarium is one of the best so I’ve been wanting to go here for a while. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. We got there when the aquarium first opened which was nice because it allowed us to see some of the popular exhibits. It got busy quick. The dolphin show was cool so make sure you make reservations first thing when you get in. The sea lion show wasn’t as good but it is still worth seeing. The whale shark was awesome to see. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. They do allow re-entry. Max’s coal oven pizza is in walking distance and is delicious 😉

I've been to the TN Aquarium in Chattanooga, Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, and an aquariun in NC. None of them compare to the GA Aquarium! Where else can you see dolphins, beluga whales, sea lions, and whale sharks under the same roof? The dolphin show was amazing. The sea lion show was so cute. I could have watched the beluga whales all day long with their cute faces and marshmallow blubber. They seemed to love swimming up to the glass and interacting with people. The whale sharks are absolutely massive. Such gentle giants. We were highly impressed and would go back again in the future. There seems to be something for all ages here. The aquarium is well laid out. My only complaint was the price of food in the Cafe. I know it's a tourist trap but I had low blood sugar and needed to eat. For two 3 piece chicken tender meals and 4 drinks it was almost 75.00. That is absolutely ridiculous. They need to offer more budget friendly food or vending machines. Other than that, every single thing was amazing.
