- BoubayRiom, France926 contributionsMagnificent waterfall!A superb waterfall, especially in May, when the snow melts because it is very abundant. The hike to get there is quite steep, at the beginning it is done on a tarmac path and then there are around 600 granite steps to climb. These are very slippery because the waterfall creates a giant mist but it's a great experience and the view is magnificent! This is the best hike we have done in the park. Plus we come across lots of adorable and not very wild squirrels. I recommend that you take a poncho or a k-way because we quickly get soaked, and so do our belongings. It takes around 3 hours round trip to go up to Vernall Fall. The most motivated will continue their journey until Navada Fall.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 9, 2024
- elchacoHouston, Texas1,058 contributionsBeautiful Waterfall! It's not an easy hike to get there, but it is well worth it. Before you get to the top, there's a spot where you can see the waterfall in all its glory! You get soaked with the mist, but that makes it all that much better. Once you get to the top, there's a big rock for you to take a break and just admire the power of the water.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten June 26, 2024
- Jamie E4 contributionsHike with a Breathtaking RewardVernal Fall is a must-visit for any hiker in Yosemite National Park. The hike to the top of the falls is challenging but rewarding, offering stunning views and a refreshing escape into nature. While the trail is mostly uphill with some steep sections the effort is well worth it. The 1.5-mile round trip to the footbridge provides a great view of the falls, while the more adventurous can continue to the top for a truly immersive experience, getting soaked by the mist and surrounded by the power of the cascading water.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 6, 2024
- D PWellington, New Zealand8,038 contributionsWell worth the uphill hike.Off the Mist trail which is worth noting is closed Mon-Thursday for maintenance at the moment. It is open after 3.30pm on a Thursday then all day Saturday & Sunday. If it’s closed it’s a long loop around! However saying that you could still see the falls from the bottom it’s just you wouldn’t be able to walk up easily to the top of the falls. The walk to the base is a good uphill leg stretch but still worth it. Do t stop there though as you’ll get the best views from walking up the side of it which involves a lot of steep stone steps. If you still have the puff venture up the last set of steps to stand at the top of the falls looking back. The views and scenery up here changes completely and again is more than worth the effort if you can. Lots of excuse rest points for photos as everyone else is so take your time and enjoy!!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 25, 2024
- Jonathan Phan372 contributionsIncredible and Decent viewVernal Fall offered a serene and refreshing experience despite the cold weather. The mist trail was dry, making it easy to walk slowly and enjoy the hike to the top of the falls. Although the fall didn't have much water due to the ice and snow, the frozen landscape was stunning and peaceful. Perfect for a winter hike and taking in the natural beauty.Visited November 2024Travelled with familyWritten December 6, 2024
