Hotels near Kamari Beach

This gorgeous black-sand beach is located on the southeast of Santorini, right at the foot of Mesa Vuono Mountain. It's a great place to sunbathe and swim—it's been awarded the Blue Flag for its clean and clear waters after all. There are lots more to do too—there are sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, Greek taverns and bars nearby, and water sports like jetskiing. Just be sure to wear protective footwear as the pebbly terrain can be sharp and hot. It's best to arrive early, especially during the summer, for fewer crowds. This beach is a common stop on a tour of Santorini, where you can explore more of the island with the help of an experienced guide. – Tripadvisor

    Typical Santorini beach.
Lovely beach of black volcanic sand and pebbles. The sun lounges range from free to around 10 euros. The free ones are ok as long as you are buying drinks. Try to avoid the sun loungers a bit further down as you are beckoned to use them but they are very tightly packed like a train and you will be mostly in the shade. Be reminded that the sun will move behind you in the afternoon so you need space to move sunbeds around. By the rocks as you come off the high street is best.

    lovely views
stoney beach which dips going into the sea. strong currant at the front of the sea so be careful with children as it pushed adults over. lovely views and good sunbeds with parasols. tai women constantly asking if you want a massage if you dont want one just shake your head and look away or they will stand there being persistant which is annoying when its every few minutes.

    Water taxi bit pricey
We got the water taxi from Perissa. €8 each way. Thought that was a lot for 15 mins on boat. Had to wade into water as there is no jetty either end. On way there it was rough and we got soaked getting off! It didn’t matter but be aware if you are not water confident. Beach was fine for swim. Seemed busier than Perissa but basically similar.

Loved my first visit to Santorini will definitely be returning
Beach is of Volcanic sand yes pebbled that’s why advice beach shoes sun bed really a must single one cost me €7 for the whole day. If you do head into the sea beware of strong currents but it’s quite lovely, also if you do have a sun bed and wish to go for some food safe to leave a towel on your bed. Looking forward to my next visit either next year (2024) or definitely (2025)

    Wouldn't visit again
The beach itself was basic not much to do however those looking for a tan it seems ideal. I do find that the souvenirs shops along the stretch where the beaches were had poor customer services and very racist. We tried to get some souvenirs and was very much made to feel uncomfortable we were being followed and watched in almost every shops expect for about 2. 'Stars' shop in particularly was appalling two of the shop worker girls were looking towards us chatting and laughing so we left, there was an older guy sitting behind the counter and he saw us and was signaling to the workers of our presence. I was shocked at these types of behavior how ignorant and stupid these ppl are. The restaurants however were welcoming also big shout out to Vodoo and Love boat we really enjoyed out time in these bars.

    Black sand beach
We got the bus from Fira to the beach. It cost 2 euros each and took about 20 minutes. The timetable was very reliable. We paid 10 euros each for beds on the 2nd bar to the left off the main road that you walk down from the bus. It had by far the most comfortable beds. The bar was called Nostos Bar. Although we had bought beach shoes to enter the sea due to the stones etc, it was actually still very dangerous trying to get into the water. There were rocks and large pot holes. You could really injure yourself. Once in the sea it was great but I only went in once due to a fear of falling over. There were lots of bars along the promenade. Just a pity the bus going back to Fira stop quite early otherwise we would have returned for a night visit because it looked like it would be quite busy.

    black sand unattractive
The backdrop is very beautiful and the water is nice but I didnt like the black sand. I took away from the appeal of the beach. There are many outdoor cafes to choose from and in Santorini they have a popular dish of fried tomato balls, very tasty. Also they have chairs and umbrellas but I dont know how much they cost to rent.

Tranquil Bliss: Unwinding at a Gorgeous Black Sand Beach with Exceptional Comfort and Refreshing Ambiance
We had an incredible time at this black sand beach. The presence of sunbeds, parasols, and convenient beachside service for food and drinks elevated our experience. It's a perfect spot to relax without being overwhelmed by crowds of tourists. After a tiring flight the previous day, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed unwinding by the beach. Highly recommended!

A relaxing day at the beach
A surprisingly long, black, volcanic beach with a mixture of pebbles and course shingle. Both get very, very hot and walking on them, and into the sea, is very difficult barefoot. We took swimming socks with a rubbery sole and they made it a lot easier. Sunbeds everywhere. We used some owned by cafes along the promenade. As long as you spend 10 euros or so on food and drink, you get the beds for free. The service was v slow though, the beds too close together and the music too loud. In the end we preferred to rent two sunbeds and an umbrella from a private renter at the far end of the beach- near the mountain, for 20 euros, and bring our own food and drink. It was much quieter here with just one simple beach cafe. Much nicer. The sea was wavy but swimmable every day and amazingly clear. It drops quite steeply as you get in .

Most pleasant part of kefalos bay
This is definitely one of most pleasant beach in kos. It is less crowded. You can always find a sunbed even in the middle of the day. The water is calm and turquoise. It's a bit shallow. There are nice restaurants along the beach and the price to rent the sunbed is also very cheap. I highly recommend this over the more crowded sections of kefalos bay.
