Two weeks in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal with the family of four, visited Zoomarine over two days, if you only book one day you can upgrade in the park which was at the time 10 Euro each for a second day, you get a wrist band with a barcode on it to come back a second day. We went on a week day which was very busy and very hot, so for the second day we went on a weekend and it was less busy (still busy compared to Aquapark). Lots of different options for food, not cheap but good. All queues move very slow for the rides in the park, they may look small but it can take up to an hour to get on a ride, beach pool is nice, 20 Euros for two loungers with canopy (doesn't stop full sun getting through) all day, this is cheaper than the loungers and parasols at Vilamoura beach , recommend getting loungers around the pool as the beach pool can get closed now and again. Gates will open early but then you queue inside of the park, most people get there early to get a grassed area for their towels and parasols. Zoomarine is a great experience, lots to do, dolphin and seal show, pirate show, 4D Ice Age mini movie, water rides and pools.

As we are 2 older people we weren’t sure about going to this but we had a fabulous day and didn’t have enough time to see and do everything. We would recommend going for 2 days- 1 for the shows, animal exhibits and attractions and another day for the water park. Tickets for day 2 are special price. We especially loved the dolphin show (saw it twice) and the pirate show was entertaining with great acrobatics. The other animal shows and attractions were also very enjoyable ( unusual birds in Wings of the World). Good that emphasis was placed on education about the animals and environment. The rides were very good- got very wet in the Jurassic river rapid and the whole setting in the park was very well done. To use the water park there are secure lockers, changing areas and showers. The tidal beach area looked safe and clean with a very attractive beach and sun lounger area (extra money). The normal pool was clean and looked after. For food it was mainly fast food although there was a rather expensive buffet restaurant. All in all this is a great day out for the whole family. We used Uber to/from Albufeira (10 euro each way) but the dedicated Zoomarine bus picks up in various places in Albufeira (map on line and need to book and pay with tickets online)

Zoomarine has lots to offer. So if you intend to stay here for the pool rather than the shows and the rides then might as well buy the two days tickets because all shows are available only twice a day: one in the morning and the latest at 4:30 pm. We only did one ride because we got dizzy afterwards. There’s also lots of cafe, restaurants inside. Arrive early between 10 am to 10:30 am shows starts at those times and buy tickets online it’s a bit cheaper.

I couldn’t have imagined anything worse than trapsing around a theme park all day in 31 degree heat but our kids wanted to go and so we did. I have to admit we had a fantastic day. We hired sun beds near the fake beach area and had a wonderful time enjoying the wave pool, the slides, the rides. It was really fantastic and I would go again. If you’re not planning on hiring sunbeds bring a shade (parasol) and blankets. If you are planning on hiring a sun bed get there early because whilst there are lots of them they do go fairly fast within the first 90 mins of opening. Sunbeds cost between 10-15 euro per day to hire two (depending where you sit) and that fee includes a shade. Do not miss the Dolphin show. It’s beautiful but get to the amphitheatre about ten - fifteen mins before the start. This place only needs to improve on two things: 1) Faster check in on tickets. It’s ridiculously slow to check people into the park even with pre booked tickets. I’ve visited other theme parks where they operate this process much faster so come on Sea Marine get it improved please! We were stood in a queue for 35 mins absolutely baking (and we arrived at 9:50!) just to get through the door 2) the food service is so slow. The ordering booths were mostly out of order so you spent ages and I mean a good 45 mins just ordering then queuing again to collect your food. We loved it though and we’d return definitely

Zoomarine is a well planned and managed water park. The clever combination of a choice of water activities, shows (Pirates and Dolphins were amazing!) and indoor entertainment (aquarium and butterflies) gives visitors of all ages a variety of things to do and see. Some of the more popular attentions will see 30-60 mins queuing times but this is to be expected so, planning your visit is key. A day is really not enough. However, to avail of the heavily discounted day two pass, you will have to have a paper wrist band applied (which allows entry to the park again within 10 days) but, the band can not be removed before returning as this invalidates the pass. This is not practical unless you’re returning the very next day. They advertise a ‘finger print’ recognition option but this was not available which is a pity as we would have gone for this. All in all, a great experience with something for everyone.

We had the most amazing 2 days in Zoomarine. Once paying for one day you can then pay an extra 10€ for the second each and it was worth every penny. There was so much to do that you really need that second day. We managed to see everything and have fun. The rides and pools are second to none and kept an 11 year old and 9 year old very entertained. The shows are well presented and fun and the pirates who start the entertaining the crowds before the shows were all hilarious. Well worth a visit. You wouldn’t be disappointed.

We really enjoyed seeing the dolphin & the sea lion show, it was so much fun & amazing to watch! We had lunch there at one of the burger places & it was good. It is very crowded, we didn’t manage to get a lounger or a space to lay our towels to sunbathe. I would recommend to families & couples as it is a lot of fun! Make sure you bring your own juice & water as vending machines bit pricy (€2.50 for 1 can of Pepsi)

Spectacular family day. Highly recommended for anyone on holiday in the Algarve. The price makes up for the variety of everything there. You should only take food from outside, because restaurant prices are astronomical and there are still huge queues.

This attraction is one of the best we've visited. The presentation (shows) are really spectacular and entertaining. The animals all seem to be well cared for and show genuine love for their trainers. The shows were in Portuguese and English. Booking for the shows isn't required, would recommend turning up about 5-10 minutes before it starts. The park also includes a great swimming pool and beach area. The wave pool was a big hit with the kids (9 and 11). The water park slides were also great, they were such fun and it was all very safe with plenty of lifeguards. Extra info: Lockers are available to rent €7-€9 for all day rental. Food options are also great. I'm GF and dairy free and was able to find a salad bowl. Tip: most people find an area on the grass by the pool for their towels. It's a good idea to do this in the morning to secure a good spot.

We were apprehensive about going after reading some of the reviews but we are so glad we went! When we arrived (got there at 11:00) there was a massive queue to get in but it moved really quick. It was very busy inside but it was the middle of August so only what we’d expect. We did the shows first, we got to each one between 20-30 minutes before it started to make sure we got good seats. The shows were amazing, the animals obviously have a great bond with the trainers and well looked after, I love the passion for the environment. We are in the food court and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. The pirate show was out of this world, we laughed so much and loved the fact the pirates met everyone at the end and was happy to take pictures. We did the rides in the evening and I don’t think we queued for more than 20 minutes. We didn’t swim at the beach area, if you’re planning to then I would advise a 2 day ticket to make the most of it, and also get there early as it obviously fills up very quick. We were a family of 7 aged between 4-72 and everyone had the most amazing day!! Definitely recommend a visit.
