Operation "Market Garden" was one of the largest Allied operations of WWII with the aim of capturing the bridges over the Maas, Waal and Rhine in Holland. The deployed airborne troops made use of the terrain at Wolfheze and Heelsum. Another 1900 paratroopers landed on the Ginkel heath. The main setback was the unnoticed presence of 2 SS panther divisions which were stationed near Arnhem. This partly caused the Dutch Hungerwinter. (Liefhebber19, Jun 2021)
