This park, in itself, is hardly a tourist attraction. At only 4 ha, it is large enough only for typical neighbourhood amenities - tennis court, children's playground, etc. However, it connects to the river trail, which in turn appears (I haven't walked the whole thing) to connect to the trail through much of Burnaby to the east, and about fifteen...
Have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with the shape of the course and especially the pace of play. It was hit, wait repeat and on Par 3’s it was 3 groups every time. Least enjoyable round in years. Almost 5 hours. I wanted to leave after 9 it was so frustrating
We’ve been here several times over the years and always loved it. This time, things were not up to that standard.
Table layout felt a bit jumbled - tables felt they were in haphazard places with cardboard boxes on top. (probably due to a single big reso). Reasonable beer list - but only one IPA, and they were sold out...
We went to Happy Days for dinner. Got the 3 course meal for just under $70. Good size portions of snake soup - was ok, lamb stew - musky and sticky rice - salty. Also got a rice noodle - needed salt. Was given red bean soup as part of our set meal. Enough to feed 5 with left overs.
Since I tried for the first time in the other location I really liked it. Now they have a new location in my neighborhood and I'm very glad with it as well. The menu is good, the variety excellent, the servers friendly and the food very tasty. I'll come back many times.
I'm a sucker for dumplings and this place hits the spot. It's a small, no nonsense eatery with less than 10 tables. The menu is limited but what they do have is really good.
