One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
Interesting museum with the centre point being the refurbished St Roch ship which dates from 1927 and had a number of notable achievements including being the first ship to complete the NW passage in both directions (1944).
You can wander around the ship and be very glad that you will never have to endure such limited living conditions and extreme...
Looking for something different to do, we came to the Museum.
What a nice museum. The Haida Now exposition is beautifully set.
The exposition showing Vancouver’s history has a great assortment of artifacts dating many decades. And they are beautifully set.
It was Avery fun experience and I learned about the city’s history. Nice and interesting story, as well as...

Either if you spend an afternoon in Granville Island or if you just go to dine, this is a great place and one of my regular places when I go to Vancouver.
Even though it's only a 10 minute drive from Downtown Vancouver, it has a completely different atmosphere. A trip within a trip.
The menu is varied, so you...
I’d been here once before, many years ago... my parents were in town and we have been to many of our faves before so I decided to take them to The Blue Hat Bistro for something different. It did not disappoint... Clams, Beet Terrine, Salmon, Duck and OMG... the Chocolate Budino!!
We will definitely return, this time for the Friday...
Came for dinner. Had Pierre as our water. Very skilled. Service was excellent. The crab cakes were literally amazing. Husband had the chef's choice 3 fish plate and was very happy with it. I had the mixed plate with salmon, scallops and shrimp. I sent back my first plate. The scallops and shrimp.were superbly done but the salmon was overcooked....
Nice and crispy, with a good price, I order fish and chips (about 20 Canadian dollars) and was super tasty. The service is fast. Super location in the heart of Granville Island, so you can enjoy before and after your meal.
I always stay at this hotel when I visit
Vancouver. The rooms have views of
The city and water views, too. There
Are two penthouse rooms that are quite large with balconies and a fireplace. The staff are great. It is a short walk to the marketplace. There are water taxis that take you to yaletown. Nice restaurant also.
