We were at Wychwood Barns two consecutive October weekends for Dia de los Muertos festivities. This venue is a quick drive from downtown Toronto and has an interesting history, cool to see buildings such as these restored and repurposed. Indoor and outdoor event space galore, the perfect setting for any artists event.
We were delighted to stop by on Canada day for tea and lemonade and some of the best homemade strawberry shortcake I've ever had. We were also give a wonderful and informative tour!

Our dinner at Pukka was a most pleasant surprise. The food was excellent highlighted by outstanding appetizers - the vegetable pakoras, sweet potato samosas and Gunpowder prawns (nice and spicy!). This is a breakfast and lunch restaurant opened from 8 am to 3 pm. They serve wonderful pancakes and other breakfast foods. On the weekends they have a wide selection of specialty donuts. Family run restaurant for 3 generations.
FK is exceptional and the chef is outstanding. Brunch on Sunday was superb. Eggs and smoked salmon perfect. Salad was finally chopped with a light dressing that brought everything together. Flavours were out of this world. This was my first time for brunch and I will return.
We were going to share a waffle sundae but the counter person made a mistake so we ended have to eat 2 sundaes. I have never had a sundae with cotton candy on top before. There was a piece of waffle cone as a top garnish as well. It was excellent but afterwards I had a sugar rush from too...
