At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
Went to Harriet’s while we were in town last, the food, cocktails and service was phenomenal. Our server Melinda took incredible care of our table and anticipated all of our needs. She was incredibly timely, kind and professional, we didn’t have to ask for a thing and she gave us some great recommendations for the menu as well as other...
We hadn't visited Alo since before COVID and were excited to return. We knew we would be seated in the bar area, and the table, though small, was well spaced and the chairs comfortable. The menu, the same as in the main room was 6 courses. The food lived up to the michelin star. It was imaginative, varied and tastefully...
I came to Toronto on just another business trip, when I arrived the staff at the Marriott and in particular the Sportsbet Grill were incredibly welcoming.
Alex from the Sportsnet Grill is everything you ever look for in a person to represent your business. Unbelievably professional, polite and went over and above to make me feel welcome over my 3...
I had the fried cauliflower as my appetizer, cave-aged Comté agnolotti and we shared two desserts. One was a pavlova and the other was a chocolate/pudding cake of some sort. I honestly can't remember right now and it's no longer on the website. The cake was delicious and perfectly baked. The service was great and all the food was presented...
We have stayed at dozens and dozens of luxury hotels and 1 Hotel Toronto was the absolute best in terms of customer service. All our needs we met and promptly confirmed via text. The hotel itself is fantastic with a wonderful environmental theme that enhances your stay without limiting your experience in any way. Our new favourite hotel!

The Shanghai-La Toronto Hotel is Fantastic! The location is perfect in the heart of downtown Toronto. The staff are extremely professional and went out of their way (effortlessly) to make our stay exceptional and memorable! We will return every time we come to Toronto, there is no comparison, because of the staff, they are just that good!
PROS; Very nice hotel- Good location- Great view of the CN tower.
Comfortable room and mattress/nice bathroom
Great service- Nice restaurant. Nice in room service
Negatives; Lobby was a bit underwhelming- Also there was a wait to check in.
Awesome stay at this location first time and will be back. Mohammad my valet person was extremely helpful with travel advice also. Lots of great resto’s, location is excellent and close to all the mains downtown attractions to explore and see.
