In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
We took a cruise across the Seine River and the landmark is amazing. The atmosphere is romantic and breathtaking. But the locals, complemented the experience. They wave and us, celebrate with us and even if they were in a date encourage us to cheer their mate up to give him a kiss. Was a good. It get cold at night...
"Up market boulevard with top restaurants and shops"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by DavidMay1945
We were looking for a place to eat and came across two of the best restaurants in Paris but the prices were prohibitive. However there were others nearby which met our needs. A long boulevard which has some very good shops and is worth a walk despite the fact that the weather was not too good.
There is really not much to see here, but it’s a chance to see how a fairly prosperous painter lived and worked. Any artist would appreciate the studio with tall windows and skylight, with a lovely private garden below. It’s a good place to
stop on a walk through the elegant Left Bank.
Went here just my daughter and I. Made a reservation, and glad I did. It was completely full on a Wednesday evening. The starter if foccia was great. My daughter had a pizza and it was really good and I had the gnocchi with eggplant which was also very vey good. I recommend this restaurant.
in a street with about fifty restaurantes you will be looking for a good french and you have the choie between two and this time i have chosen au coup de torchon because the menu from outside mentioned a good selection of french typical plate and varied entrees.. I have chosen onion soup and a tartare. well served good portion....
We read about this place on a blog that I stumbled across, so we just had to try it. We got there early around 6:45 pm, but within 30 minutes it was filling up. By the time we left, the place was full. This place had fantastic energy and absolutely delicious food. The wait staff were very friendly and helped...
This hotel's central location in the Saint Germaine des Pres was our base for exploring the city. It is within a 10 minute walk of the Louvre and d'Orsay museums; the churches of Saint Germaine des Pres and Saint Sulpice; the Gardens of Tuleries and Luxembourg; and Metro lines 4, 10, and 12 connecting to the entire city. Easy access,...
My partner and I had an amazing stay at this hotel! We were greeted by lovely staff who made us feel so welcomed. Throughout the trip Sanjay went above and beyond to make us feel special!
Our hotel room was beautiful. I’d read a lot of reviews which highlighted that the rooms were small. We stayed in a standard room...
Went here for a weekend in February with my boyfriend.
Room was clean and fresh, a bit small for 2 persons but ok if youre not planning on staying in.
Location is good, you have close to many restaurants and shopping, and you can walk to many of the main tourist sites.
The service is excellent and everyone is very...
Came here for business during Paris deco off. An international event focused on interior decoration. It’s a great spot. Location is good. The design of interior is well done, cosy and classy. My room was a standard one probably, looking inside a small but well decorated courtyard. Bed was great. Had a perfect sleep.
The Artus is an excellent botique hotel. Perfectly located in St.Germain with lots of great restaurants in the area. We highly recommend it. Reception staff answered all our questions with excellent English.
