The tree-lined Canal Saint-Martin is the focal point of one of the most romantic and hip areas of Paris. Watch boats travel along the canal while lovers and friends take in the atmosphere from the banks or the bridges. Evenings see hoards fill the embankments to drink wine and enjoy good company. The colder days lead people to hipster bars, cozy restaurants, and concert spaces. Those who are more adventurous may explore hidden gems down nearby streets, from local bars to futuristic architecture. With its enriching mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, this neighbourhood has a dynamic, inspiring vibe.
Running parallel with Canal Saint Martin, this walkway, is perfect for meandering along, especially on a sunny day, watching the locks open, transferring boats through. Definitely a must when in Paris.
Stunning architecture and beautiful grounds. It is still a working hospital with a modern wing but the original space is stellar. Hard to view interiors but the outside space is really reminiscent of Pl. Des Vosges. Built outside the city walls at the time it is now adjacent to Canal St. Martin. Not overly restored or Disneyfied. Well worth a...
This restaurant feels like home. i knew my husband would love it once he spotted a decanter with an apple and some liquor and asked what's that and learned how an apple liquor was made. From the vegetables to the last night of the drink this cozy place was our favorite of the week!!
Lovely little place off the main area for a good glass of wine and yummy fromage and charcuterie to try! Super friendly, welcoming owners with great suggestions. If you want a nice place to catch up with friends with some great food and drink then I recommend here! You can also take away! Noticed many local residence came in to...
We had a great family dinner in this small cozy restaurant. We order the Falafel Hummus appetizer, Ravioli Pasta with Crawfish, Lamb with Sweet Potatoes and the Croque Monsieur sandwich. Although they did not have an English menu, we figured it out with help from the waiter and google translate. Dinner prices range from 10-16 euro for appetizers, 19-25 euros...
We love this area so wanted to come back.
- genuinely trying to be sustainable with minimal plastic and locally sourced food
- excellent customer service, so friendly and welcoming and lots of local recommendations
- vegan breakfast!
- big, modern room
- warm (I saw some other reviews said it was cold but definitely was warm enough)
I truly recommend this cosy hotel. We’ve stayed there 5 days and I can’t find any grounds to complain...You can really feel the atmosphere of the city. Great service, clean and good quality rooms! Next to amazing bakery with delicious croissants :)
"Nice hotel if you don't mind hearing your neighbours in rooms next door"

Good location near Place de la République, within 25 min walking distance from e.g. Picasso Museum, Notre Dame cathedral (closed now) or Père Lachaise cemetry. Nice café-restaurant La Caravane, 50 m away. Staff very friendly and efficient. But thin walls (I heard my neighbour snore), cold room (heating is centrall controlled and there is no radiator in the room you...

i could not fault the charm and friendliness of this hotel, there was a problem with my booking which they took a great deal trouble to sort out for me, this no way affected my stay there which was lovely. delightful small room with a lovely street view. There is an edginess to the area which some may not appreciate....
Being only a minute's walk from Gare de l'Est, the location of this hotel is excellent. At the same time, it is in a narrow, quiet street with not a lot of traffic. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. If you want a no-frills budget hotel, this is about as good as it gets.
